On LX's the batteries are in the trunk.  A battery hasnt been located behind the wheel of a Chrysler in nearly a decade.

Midohio is a very technical course, with several sections were you can apply brute horsepower and gain an edge.  I've got several hundred laps of experience on the track in several cars, including a 2011 997 Carrera base model.

SRT8 has different springs.  Different tires.  Different shocks, rides lwoer, with stiffer wheels thanks to its stiffer sidewall.

The SRT version of the NAG 1 has significantly different programming and slightly beefed up internal frics and a different output shaft.  In fact, if you put it in manual control mode, it will just run up to the RPM limiter and bounce off of it until you command a shift.  They did change that in later cars so it will

You sat in the SRT Core model if you visited on at the chigaco auto show, they didnt have any of the full SRT8 models there.

It was also about 1600lbs ;)

The engine is actually just stupidly solid.  I have never seen a 5.7L die a mechanical death from anything other than dropped valve seats due to overheating.  The 2.7L rental fleet engine with that shitty 4 speed was a fucking disaster and should have never ever been done.  In no way was that a good idea for the

I would argue the interior.  The SRT8 interior materials are taken from Mercedes.  Compared to the GTO, its actually very VERY nice.

So, you've never driven a 300 'C' model then.  Got it.  The transmission on all v8's is a Mercedes w5a580, with a Chrysler stamp.  Hell, earlier cars like mine actually have a mercedes branded component in them.

The SRT8 Dodge magnum.  It was a wagon, with a 6.1L Hemi making 425HP, Brembo brakes, and a skidpad rating of ~.85Gs.

If they used a diff that wasn't made from swiss cheese, i think there would be mroe of these bad boys around too.  They were suprisngly decent little cars, particularly given the time period they were introduced in.

We understand, the GTO wasnt just a sleeper.  It looked like a cavalier.  it was actually wuite ugly.

Our current birds carry over 1000lbs of monopropellant, to give you an idea.  They are pretty nimble, and capable of moving a suprising amount.  They also have a pretty short lifespan, due to fuel depletion.

hmmm...

Well, its not like they would want to put in a 100+lb heavier 4L80-E.  The 4L60E is a solid transmission and when mated to the torquey LS series engines is really pretty damn good.

I'm thinking they did it because it greatly simplifies the chassis of the car.  Now you dont have to find room for a big cable to run from front to back, under high tension.  You just have two wires, probably using the already existing CANBUS, and some actuators on the rear brakes.

The new one isnt too bad.  They have added lots of electronic safties to keep it under cotnrol.  I couldn't even get the tires to do much more than chirp and squeal with a clutch dump, it defuels the engine to coddle you and keep you safe from your stupid self.

Hard to calculate reserve capacity accurately. Ford is pretty iffy about that. I call it Ford Gas Gauge Syndrome. Stays on F for 100 miles, then drops to half for 200, then instantly goes to E but you still have about 1/4th of a tank.

But AWD makes you fucking INVULNERABLE! It mystically grants vehicles the ability to stop better, even though they have 4 wheel brakes just like everyone else.
