Other than different spring/damping rates, and some tweaking in their shifting, they are mechanically identical.

I don't mind a tastefully built system. A properly tuned subwoofer, a few hundreds watts running it, and nice high end component speakers all connected to a decent amp.

According to my insurance company, they appreciate. Even wrecked ones become worth more over time.

My argument is specific to the 2nd (possibly first, its fluxuating a lot) largest automotive market in the world, that does not invalidate it.

Well, in terms of failing to note, i was simply presenting one specific argument using the numbers provided.

I own diesels. I have converted gas powered vehicles to diesel. I make my own biodiesel and run B100 in my daily driver, a van I installed a Cummins in. I've probably absorbed so much diesel through my skin that my piss would make a decent fuel source.

That's been my big question with the new ford Transit and Ram Van

In the US, urea is one of the major methods used for compliance. Our laws on light duty diesels are rather draconian for certain emissions vs other countries.

HEUI fuel injectors use engine oil under high pressure to inject the diesel via a plunger mechanism. In essence, they are hydraulic powered injectors. The oil is running at around 3000psi in the upper circuit past the HPOP. Once the injectors are done with it they just vent the oil into the valve covers and let it

I wasn't bringing up alternative fuels for a reason, as most people dont have access to them. That, and the fuel system and engine may require notable modification.

In the US we have different formulations and standards for our diesel engines and gassers. I keep a large supply of 15w40 CJ4-certified oil for my diesels (the smallest diesel I have is, admittedly, a 3.9L inline 4) and our gas engines run SAE 5w20 conforming to API SM.

oils, filters, and repair parts tend to cost more on diesels. Diesel oil is formulated differently than the oils used in unleaded engines and often has a higher TBN rating, massive additive packages, and higher viscosity. Even more so in this case, as the engine will not be particularly wide spread and the

Voting this. I picked one up for 25k, 3 years ago.

Yeah, I fixed it once I got the exact figures. In my area unleaded is 3.19 and diesel is hovering just under 4 bucks. I spent all the time checking the other math and not the diesel price conversion i did in my percoset addled brain.

Yes, I corrected them once I found the US average. :D

I'm surprised Chevrolet did this. Diesel is 13% more expensive (Average http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/pet_pri_gnd_dcus_nus_w.htm ) than unleaded in the vast majority of the US. The cruise eco gets 39mpg. Which is 2.56 gallons/100 miles. The diesel engine will have to get 2.22 gallons/100mi to be cheaper to operate.

Mid 90's Ford Passenger Vans did this shit.

The DeSoto Panda!

Not about the speed, its about the company you keep. 1 in 3 vehicles is a 37000kg, 21m long truck doing 75mph. Jostling for position i typically can see 20-30 trucks within a mile ahead of me.

Honestly, I have seen several Mercedes Smart ForTwos sitting in the junkyard, that got creamed. They can handle it.
