even now i can only stand ska in bits and pieces. like the only bands i’ve ever tolerated were op ivy, whenever rancid broke into a ska riff, and slapstick who were more a punk band with horns than a full blown ska band imo.

dude in that royal blue shirt seemed to get it the worst. first he was kind of tackled. then one red shirt dude did manage a kick him in the side. then the tackler managed to transition to full mount.

i know we all identify lincoln with grimes, but would it be so blasphemous to just replace him with a different actor instead of killing him off?

all of this may be true, but it goes against one of the pointed messages this movie is making—they’ll get through whatever challenges they’re facing as a family together.

i don’t know how that guy was still even upright after the elbow flush against his head AND the kick right into the liver. that was fucking brutal.

this was a ridiculously excellent movie and i actually wanted to watch it again after i left. i would dare even say it’s better than the first.

saw the incredibles 2 yesterday. absolutely fantastic from beginning to end the action set pieces are done so well (the tension and suspense!) as noted by avclub. i honestly wanted to just do a 180 exiting the theater afterwards so i could watch it again.

i got a 0 on the easy and a 4 on the harder version. fatigue was definitely a factor on the 2nd one. everything sorta blurred together the longer i stared at the screen. i also have my screen set pretty low in brightness so maybe i could’ve gotten closer to 0, but the brightness bothers my eyes.

i’m glad this is being received well because the trailers did make the sequel seem like a mr. mom/role-reversal story which would’ve been simple and quite lame. looking forward to watching this with the kids!

i think the fun/enjoyment is that it’s character/story-driven, but takes place in a cruel environment. the gameplay isn’t revolutionary, but given the setting and limitations in place, it’s challenging.

just watched the clips. most of the games look pretty nice. is it weird that the use of english in that samurai game seems so out of place? i wonder if they’ll have a language/subtitle option.
