I wish they’d found another route to take with Hollyhock. Or even gone the same route, but spent more time with her. The way this season played out, she essentially gets refrigerator’d and becomes a prop for Bojack’s story.

Just have Gilbert Gottfried take over the role and don't explain why Apu suddenly sounds like Gilbert Gottfried.

Personally, I find it offensive that any animated work has voice actors portraying something they aren’t in real life.  I doubt very seriously that Will Arnett is, in fact, a horse man.  Jury’s still out on whether or not John DiMaggio’s a Mexican robot, though.

Are you trying to tell me my wife is leaving me?

They didn’t say Azaria would stop voicing Apu DeBeaumarchais, though.

In an even *more* racist turn, Apu will die on the way to his home planet.

“I just got arrested for making the perfect meal!” -J. Dahmer.

Remember when Rub & Tug was a movie which could actually get financed and made when there was a star actress associated with it?

You know what? I kinda like it.
It probably wont be great but Id be lying if I said it didnt bring a smile to my face. The tone of this trailer is a lot better. Like its from that tiny era inbetween classic goofy 90's cartoon sonic and more edgy adventure sonic with real people and guns.

If he ended up in jail because he made a sacrifice for someone else, I think I’d be into it. There’s pride to be found in that.

I don’t think its a terrible ending at all.  It depends on how you answer this question: would Jesse rather have redemption or freedom?  The ending we got gives Jesse freedom but no redemption.  The scrapped ending would have given Jesse redemption but no freedom.

Well yikes, so I’m only allowed to comment on something that impacts me and only me?

It’s extremely frustrating how if anyone takes any stance on firearms other than completely unfettered access to every firearm ever conceived, you are “ANTI-GUN.”

Because they need a snarky angle! If they just reposted other sites’ news without being snarky, it just wouldn’t be the A.V. Club.

That’s too bad, because the last several years of Netflix releasing seasons all at once has proved definitively that, at least for viewers, there’s basically no upside. The only advantage it gives is that you don’t have to wait. Meanwhile, the downsides:

The unwillingness to be an asshole to someone is not moral cowardice. You’re allowed to believe something without being willing to rub your beliefs in someone else’s face. It’s often preferable, actually.

It’s an interesting point you make about 80s and 90s TV emphasizing the importance of being “normal” to kids, especially since nowadays it’s the complete opposite, where the subtext of seemingly every show is that it’s ok to be a nerd/gay/a different gender/an ethnic minority/a non-Christian religion/etc. Obviously

Lots or non-nerdy people were into Star Wars. But the nerds were the ones really into Star Wars. A hallmark of nerd culture is diving in obsessively to a particular fandom. “Normal” people watched the movies and maybe had the action figures when they were a kid, but they didn’t read the EU books or buy every single

I will only see this if they recast Will Smith with Dan Castellaneta, as is customary on these sorts of things.

It wasn’t even 5 minutes. And really my issue is more that the whole thing lacked catharsis. Having Coulson Rider take her out just didn’t have much satisfaction behind it compared to some other villain defeats.
