I thought people disliked Prometheus because they were promised an thought-provoking (yet suspenseful) look into the origins of mankind and instead got an awful monster movie about a group of painfully stupid scientists that gave up on the search for answers when the first hints of xenomorphs appeared.

That's not why people disliked Prometheus. By and large it failed to capture that same sense of suspense that Alien had. And Prometheus was hardly hard sci fi, it had biological transformative goo that for the purposes of story Arthur C. Clarke would categorize as magic.

"What you love and hate about _____ character design"
So this is going to be a Kotaku thing now huh?
Bad enough we get to have pseudo-video game critics, now we get pseudo video game art critics. Its like another meta layer of terrible critique.

I like Snake's ass in MGS2.

That singalong sequence was weirdly charming. Everything else (or the 20 minutes I could sit through) was classic SyFy dinner theater awful. I think I bailed the second that space elf kid pulled out his glowy switchblade.

Americans have the strangest attitudes toward experts. Is it any surprise that America, the primary birthplace of modern creationism, climate change denial, and various other "conspiracy" wingnutterism, is also in large part the birthplace of anti-vaccine woo-woo?

"music videos should only contain 'attractive people.'"

Oh, LL, I remember when the ladies loved you, when a smile from you could light up the darkest day. When you would lick your lips and the panties of the world would drop. But, James, I have to tell you, you aren't looking so cool anymore. I bet your momma would tell you to knock yourself out, or possibly go back to

I'm tired of this mass effect week, it has been the worst week in Kotaku ever

Yeah that's a problem to me, I don't see WHY we need to prove it's a grown up hobby and industry. It's a huge money making industry and gaming is mainstream, so I don't see any point in validating it, other than their own insecurities and feeling shame for partaking in what they think is perceived as child's play. But

Here is the issue.

I am just gonna say I think both songs are awful. That's not to say that these bands are terrible, but I don't like either of them. The video itself is fairly mundane and rather lame as is. The "visual effect" in question is obviously being reused/borrowed, but lets just agree that no one should be doing this because

So, something a video character does is not entrenched in realism?

Pictured: Sarah Jessica Parker and a friend enjoy a girls' night out at the game.

Don't worry Tina I've been playing video games for more than 25 years with no "gamer card" I don't think you really need it.

This Dick. She already spent 15 hours on it. I'd do the same, and ME3 was crap like ME2 before it. ME was somewhat hard and the last 2 got incredibly easy. The boss fight in ME2? Ohhhh geeez. So lame! Don't blame her if she has a social life and a job while you toil away in your room. She wanted to finish ME correctly

A white guy should not be writing things like "blow up your spot" or "put him on blast"

Haha, pretty much this. What a bunch of babies.

In other news, narcissistic gamers have achieved shoving their heads so far into their bellybuttons that they can no longer pay attention to anything else in the world.

That's the first I've heard of Joose in baseball since Koufax retired.

I would get the Iron Man mod for GTAIV if it also replaced cousin Roman with Bruce Banner. Then it'd make sense how often they talk to each other.
