I suspect the “ stress Test” is just bad reporting. More like the base of the bridge deck is “ post tensioned” - Cables at tighned after the deck is in place. and agree that the “Roof” was a structural element. to help hold everything up until they attached the cables. But why not attach the cables before rotating

Exactly - You are on the correct path. Based only on a preliminary view of the photos this was designed, as a central cable stayed bridge. It looks like the deck was set to be “Post-tensioned” - cables in the deck are tightened after the deck sections are in place. That was probably what they were doing that

Agreed.... I’m 7th Generation New England Old Money... ( more than one city caries the Family name and most of the big $$$ founded a couple of Universities on the Charles... and 7 generations have diluted most of what was left. Hold on....... He works for a company that makes semiautomaus vehicles in a State of the Art Factory full of Robots that is at most 4 floors high, and his job is an elevator operator??? The last time I was in a elevator that had an “Operator”, it was in a Hotel in Paris where the elevator had not been upgraded since

Yeah ... yeah....... whatever. Tell more about the Aston Martin pulling Caravans race class . Ever since they ruined Top Gear I don’t get to see Caravan Racing!!!!

All of us “purists” may have started out hating the idea , But now that we own and drive these beasts daily most of us have changed our minds.

But there is one more factor we should add in. Who said that the “Cliff” was a “Wyile Coyote” drop off into space cliff ??

Nobody complained about cartoon physics when Warner Brothers warped the laws. Just because f&f is a live action cartoon they should also be able to use the same sort of rules, and adjust them as needed.

Hate it in our BMW 4 series. So I just click Into sport mode as so as possible

Classic example of the “car goes where you are looking” He turns toward the smart car instead of looking for the “escape space to the left” There was room to go around . Back to pursuit driving school ( after he gets out of prison ,

I suspect that a fair number of these are being shipped to various ‘Stan’s where they being used as targets .

Clearly the car is not meant to be driven by the Owner. They sit in the tent at the track while the car is driven by their pet race driver during the “ members meeting at Goodwood.

The Insurance companies won’t be hurt. They will just adjust their rates to compensate. The Dealers will pay those new rates and pass the cost on to the people who buy new cars from them. Those people will then adjust the rates they charge for what ever it is that YOU buy from a Porsche owner.

No matter what. It’s still an AMC.

as a 70 year guy who regularly tracks his 996 I guess I’m the exception that proves the rule ...... Or maybe not since most the PCA track day participant seem to be in my age bracket.

Cup Car??? Not unless your Budget is $ 80K a year and you actually want to drive it ( at Track Days only ) instead of just dusting it.

Of course the bigger issue may have been that Eds labor cost never seemed to be added to the calculation as to the “ profit” they made on the car. Maybe Ed just got tired of working for free while Mike made all the $.

Right ..... That’s just what I need a 20 year old car with 20 year old tires and 20 year old oil and 20 year old gas and dry seals and .......ect .... ect....

In the late 60's I added a “Duck bill” spoiler to the back of my Austin Healy Sprite ( a car with a flat out top speed that apporached 70 mph. Downhill with a tail wind ). My fiberglass skills were marginal at best. The result was a “not quite cured” 14 inch high wall across the rear of the car. The weight of

Every 911 and every VW Bug has a grill in the rear deck.
