Ah the good ol laguna exhaust setup. My old evo 8 with a pretty mild exhaust was way too loud for most of the trackdays there(most were 90db limit iirc)... I got blackflagged once even with a lift as I went by the sound booth. Always wanted to fab up a setup like this, but I ended up just running more hpde events at

This. On my 2016 Mustang GT(which i bought in sept 2015, when it was still pretty new and in demand), it was easy to get around 7k off msrp. The real price is what cars are actually selling for, not what the msrp is.

Also, this is one of the things that I love most about autocross...the ‘run whatcha brung mentality. 70% driver 30% car so even slow shitboxes can kick ass with a fast driver behind the wheel.

Very true. I have freelanced for a bunch of startups in silicon valley, and the ones that seem have the most chance of success seem to be the ones that run their business with a good balance of fun open culture but fundamental business management. Great post.

The biggest problem with the 280z and zx are that the gorgeous 240z (and still nice 260z) came before them. Fundamentally they were of their time but looking at them now, there’s no person with the gift of sight who would choose them over this:

Yeah, this. When i was watching the first run i kept waiting for him to floor it..i started to think he did that around 150, but nope, when he hit 180, you could hear the tone change as he hit full throttle and it really started moving. Insane..

As a former Abarth owner, 100% agree. Well, maybe some of the awesome weber’d 1960's twin cam 4cyl’s sound better, but for a modern car, yep.

Did Ford fix the high speed float that the 15-17 gt pp cars suffered from? Im assuming the new top spec performance pack (lvl 2) will be better, but curious about the regular pp gt.

100% correct. Total trans design student project proportions(which is not a bad thing), but unless they decide to start making an Aston Martin Rapide competitor...this proportion ain’t happening. I still think the surfacing and detail work is gorgeous and at least that can transfer well into production spec.
