Yup. I paid for my laziness. I wanted my mustang right then...and i got a smashing deal on it.
Yea. It was fun when i lived in downtown Sf. Although i wouldn’t say every second considering it had the most uncomfortable seats ever. My back still hurts from those lol.
Yeah. We will see if the same thing happens with the 124. My guess is it wont be as bad, due to decent demand vs. supply(only going off a good friend’s experience trying to find a ‘16 Miata for around sticker). If they start discounting it the way they did with the 500's , then yeah it will be a great buy.
Yea. I autocrossed mine a few times...not horrible. No where near a miata in handling capabilities... But not bad for a tippy city car with torsion beam rear suspension.
Totally agree. Still sucked though.. Lol
Yea. The other thing that really killed the values was the heavy discounting on new ones. Even though i got a great price for the time, i saw a few 6 months later for 17-18k new.
Ha. Well to be fair, when the Abarth was first released in 2012, they had a waiting list and were trading at or over sticker.
Yea. Its actually a great car for that amount of money. Lots of character and reasonably competent for an little city car. If i had the space i probably would have just kept it.
No fucking joke. I traded in my ‘13 Abarth with 22k miles on it(perfect condition) last year when i got my mustang. I got $10800 for it (the value was actually like $10000). Carmax offered about the same. Insane depreciation for a small car. Actually the only silver lining is that i got the fiat for 4k under sticker…
While there is definitely lots of validity to your statement, it is not as cut and dry as you would think. There are so many factors that are relevant during the design process (from first sketch until final production). Much of what ends up on the road is significantly changed from the original vision of the…
Good article. I just had a conversation about this with buddy the other day. I went to school for car design(and work in a related IDS job now), and even though we all bitch about the good ol days being gone...pedestrian safety and thick A pillars yada yada...the reality is that due to amazing manufacturing…
Yea it was really hard to finish. The worst part was the awkward admonishing of Eddy Jordon for scraping up the Benz Crossover. It wasnt funny, just weird ass hell. My girlfriend felt the same as me.
I have a good buddy, who also is an Imsa pro driver, who’s daily is a modified Allroad. His is a later 4.2 v8, which is slightly more reliable than the 2.7tt that most have(although still has the crazy inaccesable timing chain deal). I alway give him a hard time about it, but after a recent shooting/fishing trip that…
This sounds awesome...ugh i live in SF so it would be quite the trek. Shit. I shouldn’t be looking at flights right now......
Lol, thanks.Theres a reason i became a designer rather than an automotive journalist. And, i am a graduate of the Los Angeles Unified School District...that should tell you everything you need to know about my lack of proper grammer!
Nice! Do you have a build thread on mustang 6g? The car/situation sounds familiar.
Glad your okay!
This. Tiff can fucking drive. I grew up watching him on TG and FG, read his biography and have met him once(really nice guy!). Hopefully he lands somewhere we can still watch him as a presenter and driver.
Yeah. Working on getting out soon.
