I can’t believe that something only three feet long would have a long enough range to be useful.

I used an electric fan from a Subaru and two big solar panels to vent my attic. Sun comes up, fan goes on. :-)

To your 2nd paragraph, there is no better illustration than Long Island, NY. Some of the highest taxes in the country, yet, the roads are full of pot holes, public service is virtually non-existent, most homes still heat with oil, most homes have cesspools and not sewer lines, the enforcement of ordinances and codes…
The more a state spends, the more it needs to tax. So, the question of what they are spending money on is what needs asked.
