Woodrow Wilson. Woodrow was his first name, Wilson was his last name.
Woodrow Wilson. Woodrow was his first name, Wilson was his last name.
I see that Jezebel's Debbie Downer Contractual Obligation is still being honored.
Ugh, Rihanna's hat. No me gusta this trend.
I think part of her appeal is that she has arrived in this position through her own doing; she grew up and figured out her priorities in the public eye without a lot of support in the form of a traditional family or childhood. She ended up successful on her own terms and seems happy and relatable.
Every time I read something about Drew Barrymore, she just looks cooler and cooler to me.
Not all POTUS!
Exactly! I'm not even necessarily a Hillary supporter, but if you can't see through this sexist bullshit ya need some new glasses.
Like I said, I think scrutinizing moments like that are important and I certainly am not a fan of some of the tactics that were used by people I admired as "feminists" back then. But "cunty" and "hyena pack" are not ways I'd use to describe them.
Especially since she's the only tarnish on his otherwise clean-of-sexual-assault-and-harrassment-charges record.
Clearly Monica, a intern in her young 20s, was a predator against literally the most powerful man in the world. Isn't he the real victim here?
I was tired about hearing about the Lewinsky crap a decade ago and I'm sick of hearing it now. Just shut the hell up already.
In case you want a real answer:
Mrs. S. is so not flat. Even when she has few lines or little to do, the character is played with all kinds of subtle but still visible depth by the performer. Now, unless you want to find yourself cutlery'd to the tale, I suggest you rethink your opinion. It's for your own good.
I think you are correct in pointing out that the show is not misandrist. Male characters are not marginalized to the point of disposability, or subjugated as only sexual objects. Both Art and Paul pose real threats to Sarah and her end goals - but not because of some stereotypical, shallow characterizations - rather…
There's a reference by Sarah in the pilot that she is planning on taking the train to New York, IIRC.
She definitely said something about New York on the phone with Mrs S in the very first scene but I think she might have said that she had just arrived on a train from New York...?
It is filmed and Toronto and they don't try to hide it, but they don't call it out, either. They never said it was New York. Because it's jointly funded by the BBC, they didn't want to make it any specific city and so they tried to make it generic. One of the exec producers referred to it as "Gen-burbia" in an…
I HAVEN'T WATCHED A MINUTE OF THIS SHOW BUT I HATE IT AND YOU'RE STUPID FOR WATCHING IT.
I believe that in an initial episode, they tried to pretend it was New York City. I laughed when I saw where SarahBeth was living, because that's the least New Yorky dwelling ever. I am glad they dropped the pretense fairly quickly, though.
Seriously though, if Kanye had pulled a "I'm gonna let you finish Robin Wright, but Tatiana Maslany was one of the best actresses in a television series drama of all time", I wouldn't have been mad at him.
