This is a civil forfeiture situation in which the owners should be demanding 5th / 14th Amendment Due Process before being deprived of property.

Fortunately, the size suggests they can file a rather substantial class action lawsuit and demand fairly hefty daily rental fees based on the types of cars confiscated

Right now? I would pick up the phone and call GM and LG Chem. I would build around the 18.4 kWh Chevy Volt or 60 kWh Chevy Bolt packs, both of which are going to be widely available for the foreseeable future in large volume. LG Chem is easily the world’s largest lithium pack manufacturer, and their cells are larger

I did. Tesla isn’t #1 right now, and won’t be going forward. Tesla isn’t even #1 in the USA.

First, they have to build the factory; then, they have to build the cells and packs.

Right now, it’s just a pipe dream.

It’s still more than Tesla has today.

Are you so fucking stupid not to recognize that I was making an analogy using common store-sized batteries?

Jeff Steinborn famously says, never break more than one law at a time.

If you were to be swept off the platform, down into the water by the 3rd rail, that would suck. Big time.

I prefer bacon fat. Skim the good stuff, let it cool in the fridge, and spread it on bread for a snack. So tasty.

For all intents and purposes, Tesla is making cars powered by tiny AAA batteries, where GM is using big D cells. For the same capacity, GM uses far fewer cells. Counting by the total number of cells doesn’t give a good picture.

I’m pretty sure LG Chem has more global battery capacity than Tesla.

Shoulda put an early Bug behind it. Something easily man-portable to a group of university men up to hyjinks!

Fiat is clearly at fault when the vehicle consistently does not work as many buyers would expect. It is a design flaw.

Essentially, this is the same issue with Tesla’s autodrive feature. Failure to test to typical buyer usage and expectations.

Sounds like they’re going to Tesla him. I wouldn’t allow FCA access to the car except as supervised by lawyers.

Too bad they’re a bunch of fucking cheaters...

Dude, WTF is wrong with you? Your $600 Jeep runs better than this POS. Sell it “As-Is” for parts, and move on to anything else.

Subaru is another. There are guys powering aircraft with the EG33 boxer from the Subaru SVX.

If it ain’t broke...

Came for this, was not disappointed.

That Putin is one crafty muthafucka.
