Well written and I agree with your sentiment. As a matter of fact I would say that horsepower is always the answer. The ability to move FASTER than traffic is, in my opinion, just as important as being able to slow down.

But does this offset depreciation? Probably not. Add to that higher insurance rates and paying more tax on more depreciation and I don't really see where you are coming from. Easy. A low mileage used car that is still under warranty. Most of the 'teething' issues are worked out by this point and usually you get all of the new car feeling with none of the new car insta-depreciation.

Welllll I guess its subjective. There are 100k mi junkyard ls based motors making 1000hp out there. It is a good (strong) motor if not refined or advanced. The ecotec 4 bangers are extremely reliable as well and they are up to snuff on the technology front. I'm not a hardcore GM lover but to say they all break down...…
