We have a red one of these at WPI, I'm pretty sure it runs.... but when it was put on display everyone got distracted when a kid showed up with a BMW Isetta that he found in a field.

Mary Beard gets so much shit from the press, it's horrible. She gets called ugly allllllllll the time by supposedly reputable journalistic sources. Because you know, being a babe is totally a requirement for being a world leading classical scholar and Oxford professor. Plus, even though I'm a classics grad I have

As I said, I have no problem with returning artifacts to their countries of origin. However, my priority is the preservation of said artifacts, and that doesn't tend to happen when the country in question is in the middle of violent revolution, as is detailed in the linked article. The destruction of priceless

Nope. They're all engineered, breed and born like in the Matrix.

Yep, totally true. I saw a consultant (that is, an OB/GYN) 4 or 5 times because I had pre-eclampsia and preterm labour, but a midwife was there for everything from taking blood and urine tests to getting me water and pain relief during labour to aftercare and breastfeeding help. True, they are educated for less time

Anyone can comment on GT. What's invite-only is the ability to create entirely new posts. But if you comment regularly enough that people know you, you can probably get added on the invite thread.

I think the same thing. I have a few ideas, but what if no one ever sees it?

Feel free to come comment, it's a pretty friendly, way cool group over there. The only real rule is "DON'T BE A JERK!"

boo! I guess when I made an account on Kinja way back when I had made it a burner bc I didn't want it linked anywhere. anyway, I wrote a long comment about my experiences growing up in Texas and my experiences witnessing how politics negatively affect my friends and family. It was in response to the abortion bill

HOW MANY OF YOU JEZZIES ACTIVELY BLOG ON YOUR JEZZIE BLOG? I WANT TO FIND SOME OF YOU TO FOLLOW SO I CAN GET MY READ ON. I HOPE SOME OF YOU ARE FUNNY.

I think when people say "discreet" it means "you can pack this in your suitcase and not be completely humiliated if it turns on or otherwise concerns the security checkpoint folks at the airport which will result in your suitcase being rummaged through by strangers in front of other strangers."

Because it is literally not possible to calculate the utter stupidity of the American TV-watching public, on the whole. For everyone out there watching NOVA or Doctor Who or gosh, ANYTHING ELSE, there are at least 25 people who are all "OMG I LUV 2-1/2 MEN! BEST SHOW EVARRRRRRRRRRR #ashton"

I remember the ear biting as being pretty much a joke from the start. White people seemed to find it hilarious, and I would argue that it's because they were comfortable with it. There aren't any stereotypes about big black men getting overexcited in a fight and biting your ear off, so it was not scary to them at all.

No one said the verdict was correct (at least no one on this comment feed). I think the majority of us here don't agree with the verdict, which is why we are putting the jurors under a microscope. It is also the first time we've heard/seen anything about them.

Ryan Seacrest frankly strikes me as the type of person who thinks technology is getting out of hand because the mall sign knows exactly where he is.

When I see Jack Antonoff's name, I just see Jack-Off.

Was just coming here to say the same. Love the whole farm aesthetic/locale, too, especially as they didn't pair it with some lame hoe-down or milkmaid trashy outfit, as i would have expected.

Yep, absolutely. OB for the win...(well, until I met Diva Cup).

I think using the word "miming" to describe onstage antics of Marilyn Manson is a pretty good media punishment for something so ridiculous. Look, we all loved Mechanical Animals when we were 15—but isn't homeboy pushing like, 50 now? And STILL doing this junk?

But the idea of a Manson mime makes me happy.

Could Jessica Coen or Anna Breslaw please explain why the mental health of a 15-year-old is material fit-to-print? I'm genuinely curious how you've rationalized this.
