This reminds me a criticism I’ve heard for the former Two Black Queens podcast/show. I totally get it, applies to  both.

My dad came from poverty, and he was a cheapskate even though my parents had plenty of money. He constantly bitched that we kids were spoiled and didn’t appreciate everything he’d done for us. Except we had nothing else to compare our upbringing to? My dad refused to pay for family vacations so we never went anywhere.

I really liked Blackish at first, but slowly I grew uncomfortable with some of the storylines and episodes (I remember there was an ‘only black people believe in God’ episode.) The show is sometimes heavy handed I wondered who the audience was supposed to be - I figured, not people of colour.

He wants black audiences to demand better art. Yet he gave Tyler Perry a platform to defend his misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic body of work. Tyler Perry made millions promoting regressive values dressed up as “black Christianity”, thankfully his cool friend with some white cred is happy to help him launder his

Yikes, this was tough medicine. Very fair, very tough.

It’s all well and good that 60 Minutes had the receipts, but it would be better if they just made the decision not to provide a vast audience to a propagandist like Navarro. There is zero chance that he will ever tell the truth about anything, so what purpose does it serve to legitimize his BS perspective by giving

I really want to see the melt down on live TV where someone, anyone, just blurts out “OBAMA!” the next time one of these dolts asks “Who could have done it better?”

Point of order: Nathan and Andrew still live together, which can make Molly’s situation with Andrew even stickier, something sort of passively mentioned when Molly considers bringing Andrew as a plus-one to the mixer.

I’m very excited Insecure is back on the air. Its going to b interesting how this season plays out now that its tension between the two main characters. The newfound friendship between Issa and Condola shows a lot of maturity on Issa’s behalf and the direction of the show.

“damn girl you like a rubix cube.”

I have no idea what makes these idiots feel like they’re the star of their own movie lol. Not only can coronavirus get you the fuck out of here, it absolutely will. The amount of people unnecessarily contracting the virus just because they refuse to stay the fuck home and stop gathering in confined spaces is mind

She looks like Helena Bonham Carter on crack, which is saying something because Helena Bonham Carter always looks like a dope fiend (I say this in love, of course; she’s a helluva an actress).

In other news, poetic justice is served.

 General Sherman Appreciation Week?

Defunct Nation Celebration!

To anyone stuck in Mississippi, my prayers are with you. Get out ASAP, because it’s not going to get better. The fact that a black man was so uppity as to get into the White House is something that devoted racists like this man and otthers before him will never accept and they have devoted their lives into stanning

If they are truly trying to be historically accurate and honor their heritage (which we all know they aren’t but go with me here):

Also, black people are worth writing about without focusing primarily on their suffering.

There’s one unique group that receives disproportionate attention to their hair and one group that places a disproportionate cultural significance on their hair. And that’s black people, the people who this article is about. If you only want to read covid-19 articles about death tolls and Trump being an incompetent
