Yeessss! The mother’s vehement response to the recent onslaught was curious...NOW, the picture becomes clear: she screwed him in return for career help for her daughter and came to find out he went after her daughter, got her pregnant and married her?! Yeah, that’s enough to make any mother’s head explode -even

That’s why he banned Gayle from discussing Aaliyah because he can’t defend it. Barry Hankerson is suspect too.

This comment just made my damn day.

Honestly? I could see it. Hear me out.

I used to know a man who had sex with women in three generations of the same family, and fathered children with several of them. As far as I know, none of the liaisons were incestuous, but still, ewwww.

What in the Abducted in Plain Sight: Chocolate City is this? I made it to the 3-minute mark.

Speaks to the limited public space WOC in particular black women are allowed. I’m a history buff. I could care less if Great Britain if becomes a republic. I am fascinated by how WOC navigate hostile spaces. For Meghan, much of the criticism seems centered on authenticity.

The thing I think about is: What if two people were charged with Jussie’s “attack”? He would likely have sat back and let the lives of two people be irrevocably changed for something that didn’t happen. All for what? More money? Better storylines? A profile raise?

His children must be so proud.

“a white part of Colorado”. You could have just said “Colorado.”

Can I just say that Audrina was the best-looking and nicest person on that whole damn show? Now, I bet someone is about to come at me with some receipts that she’s actually a white supremacist who abuses animals and steals candy from babies. And, well, if you are...let me have this. lol

We don’t all look the same. I mean Audrina has darker hair. I feel like Mischahas darker hair. But yeah, we’re California girls and it’s a group of friends and that just happens to be the group that came together.

I wanted to post this in the Root, where it belongs, but I got error messages 11 times in a row.

I feel like Mischa has darker hair”!? She one upped her own nonsense. Hahahahahaha.

It is entirely plausible that both are true: that the parents are as the daughters describe, *and* R. Kelly is guilty of child abuse.

One of the most disturbing takeaways from the docuseries is the idea that some of the parents and girls did know they were “tempting” him to court his interest, they were just stupid enough to think they could control it. It’s not that they didn’t think he hurt girls, it’s that they thought he hurt girls who didn’t

What a remarkable coincidence it is that R Kelly’s very, very specific type is compromised exclusively of black women 30+ years his junior who are estranged from dishonest, mercenary parents!

What’s most telling is that R. Kelly was present when those women were being interviewed and would cough at points to, ostensibly, remind them that he was there.

If I didn’t know someone personally who was groomed & sexually abused repeatedly as a child, who didn’t come forward till his late 20s and whose journey mimics both Robson’s and Safechuck’s so so eerily similar, I think I would have a very difficult time letting go of that deep, childhood nostalgia for both Kelly and

I think it’s possible - even likely - that the parents are assholes who don’t necessarily have the girls’ best interests at heart. It would also go a long way in explaining how these young women ended up in R. Kelly’s grip in the first place. It’s a lot harder to enslave and brainwash someone who is well adjusted and
