“Also are u trolling. U know that almost all the readers want them gone and think these women are shit. Yet u keep writing these articles.”
My main problem with the Women’s March is that their entire platform is basically, if you support Trump or Republicans in ANY capacity, you are a horrible gross person who is racist and COMPLICIT. Trump praised Nazis as “there are some fine people on both sides” bullshit and was rightly, soundly destroyed over it.
Yeah, Farrakhan isn’t like “Israel is bad.” he’s like “Jews are making the frogs gay.” It should be pretty easy to renounce.
I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt at first, but when they doubled down it basically demonstrated that there are ulterior motives.
Or maybe she doesn’t want to go to a march whose organization is helmed by four shitty women who support a guy who’s anti-Semitic, misogynistic, and anti-gay.
“Your soft touch on these women is beyond gross and racist treating them with kid gloves.”
We call this the soft bigotry of low expectations.
I mean. Farrakhan believes that Jews invented trans people to destroy black people. This should not be hard. No one who claims to be part of an “intersectional” movement should…
Apparently for them, very difficult. They apparently can’t reject his misogynistic and anti-gay remarks either.
I participated in my local women’s march two years ago but it was still bullshit.
Apparently, it is difficult for them. Maybe they are anti-Semitic after all.
Farrakhan is anti-Semitic. Denouncing him would be a step in the right direction. Until this happens, I will not march with their organization. If I can't feel comfortable, that is my choice. Such a shame. I would think the organizers could relate. I guess not.
“Louis Farrakhan has done some good things for Black prisoners. However, we unequivocally and completely reject his racist and absurd remarks about Jewish people.”
I’m surprised you didn’t address the Tablet article about the group’s leaders and the allegations of financial mismanagement in addition to the alleged anti-semitism.
“due to past associations with the Nation of Islam’s notoriously anti-Semitic, not to mention patriarchal and homophobic, leader Louis Farrakhan”
A lot of the Criticism I is not in bad faith. I’m a woc color and I think they all should go. I can’t be with the NOI and be in the women’s march. There are many WOC that can take the lead who aren’t anti-Semitic. But at this point any woc that is on the level wouldn’t want to touch this shit show. Your soft touch…
“It is unfortunate that our national anthem has been dragged into this debate when the distinctive senses of the national anthem and fighting for justice should each stand alone.”
I don’t give a damn that those verses aren’t sung. They exist, are part of the song and the continued use shows just how much disdain this country has for its Black citizens. Anyone who thinks this shitty song is more important than the lives of actual people is a damn fool. That people are so wrapped up in it abd not…
okay but she’s the Bee on the Masked Singer, right? Right???
I like that you posted this without any further comment, as if it explained everything (it does).
