Do you mean "white college students"? "Black" and" college student" aren't mutually exclusive.

Gael Garcia Bernal responded to my Facebook message! I still read it.

I went to ND and saw the Vagina Monologues before it was banned (2008). Small world!

Studies on colorism show that to be the case—the ends of the spectrum get the most teasing.

Haha, you need to google "colorblindness" asap. At least it's the Internet where your embarrassment doesn't have to be public.

I feel you. I graduated college a semester early and told my friends it was a good thing because school was making me so jaded about white people. Now I've moved to "white people exhaust me". The irony is then (and still now) my boyfriend is a white Jewish man, and when I expressed both of these sentiments to him he's

Agree. Humanism is to feminism what colorblindness is to anti-racism.

I think I need to dump/distance a friend. Harsh or no?

Yea, F. A. Tasse = fat ass

If being direct about feeling your time is wasted doesn't work, you could say, "Since you're always late, can you call me when you get there and I'll leave to meet you?" If she agrees, then it's probably true she has a nonlinear view of time (and is fine waiting for you to make up for persistent lateness). If not,

Fingers crossed! I was thinking, "How did I miss that?" Then again, I just found out today that one of my sisters is getting married in September, so it's not a surprise when I'm the last to know.

Sorry, no. Calling your preferences based in racism doesn't mean you can't have them. And what you grew up with/and racism are not mutually exclusive, as someone with a degree in psychology would know. Have a seat.

You're having another kid? Congrats!

I would just comment that "look like me" is vague. Do you like men with the same eye color? Hair color? Height? None of those are racially-constricted categories.

He's called himself Black before, and I tend to refer to people by their own terms. I'm not particularly a fan of his though, so who knows?

Well, one thing is that "Indian", "Asian", and "Black" don't connote any specific features. Iris Elba, Shemar Moore, and Wentworth Miller are all Black men, but they don't look anything alike. So what does "I'm not attracted to Black people" actually mean?

True, but I think the existence of a cultural belief doesn't speak to it's popularity, necessarily. For example, I can find a sizable number of Americans who believe in the Rapture and will sell their belongings, baptize people, put up billboards, etc. That doesn't mean American Culture values Fundamentalism.

I don't think cultural relativism applies here because a crime committed by citizens of a particular country is not necessarily a reflection of "culture". When people make it about "All of the people here are savages" (really?), then I think cultural relativism is dragged into what should/could be a conversation about

I hope it works out for you both! My boyfriend really likes his job, but it can be a long, hard road for clients. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reply back and I'll pass them on. (My boyfriend also writes appeals for denied cases.)

I just got mine in last week, and I'm a baby with not a lot of "room" down there, and it wasn't that bad! My doc gave me misoprostol the night before, injected my cervix with dental-grade numbing stuff, and the actual insertion was like a period cramp, but I didn't cry or anything. Honestly, I was more out of it from
