@saltboy: Sure you can get absinthe, and it still has to be thujone free. That is the chemical which was supposed to be hallucinatory, but is toxic. So all US procured absinthe is hype, marketing, and not the same stuff at all.

@soldstatic is nominal: I had heard they would catch them occasionally, dead. It must have been crazy when copper went through the roof.

@soldstatic: I was never sure how many people heard about power line theft. My first engineering job out of school I designed a clamp to be installed so guys couldn't tie chains to underground (live) wires and hook them to a car and drive off.

@Criosphynx: We used to have a robust economy that could soak up displaced workers (the buggy whip makers). These days it seems every business is trying to get rid of every employee, full automation or offshore. I'm worried we'll need to support former workers to not work indefinately, then some way to subdue them

@Jean Philip Rodriguez: Low skilled laborers do not repair infrastructure or develop much of anything. The industrial revolution was supposed to reduce the workweek to 20 hours due to productivity gains. However, the workers didn't own the machines that improved production. So the gains were realized by the owners.

@Gawain23: The first time I went as a kid, the 80's, I was pretty scared there. Yep, porn, porn, porn. 25 cent peep shows were the most popular as I recall. It did have that cool 8 o'clock Bean sign that smoked, I was impressed. Today it's a giant ad, but I'll take it over the old one.

I'm also tired of WikiLeaks being blamed for the leak. No, apparently a army private took all this secret stuff and gave it to them. Thus WikiLeaks is the publisher, like a newspaper (Pentagon Papers), and had not conducted espionage. That was done apparently by a trusted US citizen.

I had a Panasonic NiMH drill. Both batteries died, and to replace them was the cost of a new DeWalt 14.4 XRP. Sadly, it is all about the batteries with cordless tools due to their cost. The NiCad's don't just drain for me, and they're much, much cheaper to replace.

@Adam H: And see them die!

"Sir, you shouldn't have a problem with us touching your son"

So many people advocate profiling as an obvious necessity. What does a terrorist look like? Like a Team America character or Timothy McVeigh? Someone with dark skin or a retaliating US soldier? Also, if the object is terror it wouldn't be too hard to wear a suicide vest to the pre-screening area or a entry to a

Alcoholic beverages are regulated by the TTB not the FDA. It is not food. The TTB will have to take action on this if they want.

@Nick Bisby: Points taken. I'm being a bit loose in Property. I'm also not advocating his investment is wise at all. The value of the investement in a virtual environment can be the same IRL. It's ability to generate income, and Google does this well. If this in-game property gives a decent ROI, then it was worth

@CrispyAardvark: I'm stretching it a bit. This comes to paying someone to develop my business website. To me it's investing in something that doesn't exist, but it does have value especially to me.

Couldn't the images of scanned children be considered child pornography? So what about those viewing such images, or touching a child in their screening process? With such high standards for the TSA screeners (GED or 1 year training), who's to say these jobs don't attract people who do get off on doing what they do?

@CrispyAardvark: Also, isn't the value of the large internet companies comprised of their virtual property, and not their physical buildings and infrastructure? All the physical stuff is overhead, the virtual stuff is revenue.

@CrispyAardvark: True. You could also consider him a company of 1 (or more if he needs staff to run this property). What would Yahoo or Google (or other large internet company) have if it weren't for their virtual presence. Google has certainly worked on their Real property, but all their money comes from their

Yahoo, the Googles, etc. are all virtual property too.

@kapwinnnng001: I couldn't follow that link but on the TSA's website:
