Perfect utter ugliness does seem to take more imagination than the reverse which I think is indicative of something very interesting.

I was about to respond with similar sentiments because I do think there is a standard of symmetry and beauty that transcends cultural associations and there must conversely be a level of ugly that does the same. But, for all the traits in the grey area there will be a community that values them.
