Because many of those in Texas who would be reporting it are here illegally. And as a result of that, crimes that should be reported are going unreported. That’s where the big issue and debate of sanctuary cities comes into play: it’s not really the job of state and municipal agencies to enforce immigration law (they

When I went through the Academy, it was drilled into us (among other things) that the weapon did not, would not, ever...ever go into an environment where alcohol was being consumed. Especially off-duty. It was the sort of thing that would end careers, and then keep paying you back over and over for making that

Agreed: If it was his duty-carry weapon, it would be a Glock: those tend to have a very, very low ‘fail’ rate. Almost never when they’re being ‘picked up.’ You can bet dollars to donuts this is a ‘user fail’ situation.

This is actually (within federal agencies) the sort of thing that can carry some severe repercussions, especially if alcohol is involved. There tend to be a lot more consequences doled out on the federal level than the state or municipal level, especially where alcohol is involved.

I supported everything you said there, especially as federal law enforcement regulations are very, very specific about off-duty pistol wear and proximity to alcohol. It’s the kind of thing that is nearly impossible to shake from your record in federal law enforcement, assuming you survive the investigation.

Quite rightly!

Wasn’t Sara Gilbert one of the big driving forces behind the reboot? I feel like with her, and a couple of the other cast members and crew, there was a cloud of people that ABC felt was stable enough to keep the show moving in the right direction. I guess they made the bad assumption that Roseanne wouldn’t shit the

ABC just canceled Roseanne.

It’s all good: the Yankees still lost 5-1. It’s the best of all worlds.

I would argue that the best way to cheese a burger is shredded cheddar, rolled into the patty meat prior to placement on the grill. I mean, come on: perfect application across the board!

I did not love that video until he turned around at the end to see if he was being followed. That’s comedy gold, right there.

My agency’s Use of Force doctrine for tasers is they will not, ever, be deployed against someone in the operator’s seat of a vehicle. Period. Even if the vehicle is off. A person seizing up from being electrocuted will not have control of that vehicle, which will then go zipping off who knows where and towards who

Ironically, that might actually work out better for them: branding the movement as ‘rice bunny’ is the sort of funny little mnemonic that can help something go viral, and become harder to suppress.

The existence of a thing elsewhere does not automatically make it relevant to a conversation at hand.

So what do you call the singing of the national anthem and the military half-time shows?

Nope.

It really does depend on the agency you work for, though: I was called a fascist stormtrooper by a right-winger for doing my job just a few months into the current Administration. I get no love from anyone, but what can you do? Someone has to do my job, and I volunteered for it. I’d volunteer for it again, even

It is truly terrifying what celebrity and a shit ton of money allows a person to get away with. I mean, this is stuff that we KNOW about. What haven’t we heard? What are things that might be just rumors, but indicate something deeper and worse? I mean, we’ve always ‘known’ stuff like this happens, and the #MeToo

This, right here: I guarantee all these guys are the same ones that will complain about how women are not interested in them, and how they only pay attention to assholes. Well, they’re all being assholes now: let’s see how long that works out for them.
