For the past four years, we’ve had Netflix (T-Mo is picking up the tab now) and Prime (free shipping) and in the fall pay for Sling for college football. We have a couple of Roku’s with with additional channels setup. I prefer Netflix over Amazon simply for the interface. I pick up movies on Black Friday at Walmart fo…
Like any manual steered car, it helps to get in rolling first. But yes, Popeye arms would have helped. And it would have helped if it weren’t a single lane road with a ditch that you had to half pull into, just to get the ass end anywhere near pointed towards the door...
But it’s a chevy... So either the exterior is an eyesore or the interior is... And it’ll need a new transmission at 100,000 miles anyway.
I’ve had a ‘99 and ‘05 Suburban’s and an ‘11 Avalanche.
Other than low speed turns... Man I hated backing our deuce fire truck into the garage.
Hmm. My mom has had...
‘72 Pinto
‘77 Mustang II
‘82 Fairmont (Almost bought a VW Fox)
‘87 Tempo
‘92 Tempo
‘96 Century
and she’s on her second Hyundai.
Damn. I’m only on my 3rd (and considering one or two more...) But then I keep mine forever in modern car terms. 16 yrs (sold), 6 yrs (still driving), and 3 yrs (still driving).
Dear Not a Thug,
He cut out the actual product from his scheme... That’s actually impressive.
My last Jetta had 300,000 miles on it when I sold it (still running). Over the 16 years we owned it, I drove it primarily, but my wife drove it one summer and all four kids learned to drive in it (including the boy, who liked to drive the corners in the snow). I never had to replace the clutch and I would hold it on…
Forget the Roomba, have you seen the Hoover Rogue? That thing is way smarter than a Roomba. (But still manages to get itself stuck under the kitchen counter every day.)
Back in the day.... (Late 80's / early 90's) one of the car rags had an article on the “wonder” of an Allante... The author’s 17 year-old daughter summed up the worst decision as, “Why does a $50K plus car come with a manual top, when the same year Pontiac Sunfire Convertible, has a powered top?”
I’m ok with the 3rd party car love swag. The VW Bus, muscle cars, etc. I don’t care for, and wouldn’t wear, the the actual marquee branded clothes like the model above.
Hmm.
My kitchen sucks. It’s too small and the upper counters are too low. The only items allowed on my counter top are the coffee maker (daily use) and the toaster oven (at least twice a week use).
And everyone on watch in CIC, especially on the Surface side.... Hell, even the EW’s (Sorry, I’m old school) should have seen a metric crap-ton of radar reflection off the incoming ship. Someone should have noticed and sounded the collision alarm.
If they can do it properly, it should be something that has very little competition in its (admittedly niche) segment, but would have growth potential to go beyond.
Our TV’s are older and we’ll probably sell one to the kids this year, and replace it with a 4K / HDR set. My receiver is so old (circa 2004) that I’ll be replacing that as well. (Plus I’ll need to pick up at least two used speaker to achieve 7.1 surround.) But most of my content is still in DVD’s with about 15% in…
I still have 2 x 42" Samsung 720p Plasma TV’s (2008 and 2009 models). I haven’t noticed any issues in the 8 years we’ve owned them. We are contemplating selling one of them to one of our simi-adult kids (17, 19, or 21) when we move this summer.
