That’s like arguing that you shouldn’t buy that 5 passenger Prius, when there’s only two of you. A Miata would be a better choice. After all, you’re not fully using the Prius.

We moved to a minivan (Toyota Previa) when my wife was pregnant with our second... The Subaru Impreza didn’t have enough room for one car seat and two grandma’s in the back seat.
I don’t know the answer to that question. The people who I know who own boats use them much more frequently than once a year.
For me, we bought a (used) 2001 Excursion (in 2006) to tow a 34’ travel trailer. We went camping once a month without fail and usually twice a month during the spring and fall. We also had 4…
I don’t know, but I can tell you that 100% of Honda Fit owners never use it to tow a boat...
I use Advanced primarily, O’Reilly’s is my backup, and heaven forbid I have to drive across the river to get to AutoZone...
Advanced is closest to my house, but they know me there. They know my cars. They ask about the cars and kids (I’ve brought them in over the years) and they’ve given me discounts out of the blue…
“I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.”
My Jetta needs a new reverse gear...
Hmm. I wonder how much debt he has.... I’m not sure that I want to own 100% of such an albatros...
I have a spare buck. How many shares of Saleen can I buy?
Heh. Because Houston isn’t as good as Dallas or Austin?
True but I don’t own a Golf TDI, the best deal on a used TDI near me is a 2002 Beetle for $6000. That $800 doesn’t buy a lot of diesel and it’s a 13 year old car... The cheapest new TDI is a $20,937 Jetta.
Try metro Dallas. No toll booths on the toll roads. You can pass through at 70 mph.
Eh. I drive in on Monday and go home on Thursday and work from home on Fridays. (Plus I’m home one week a month.) Weekly, it’s not much worse than the job I had in Metro Dallas.
It wouldn’t be my first choice for my driving around town or long trips with the family, but for my weekly commute, (300 miles on Mondays and Thursday’s). At 84 MPG and $6,800 cost, it’s sitting in a pretty sweet spot for a commuter car.
I’ve read through the comments and almost everyone seems to be missing the fact that it’s a kids hand, not some beefy guy’s hand.
What about Farmer’s?
I had a friend in my Navy ‘A’ School who basically bought the same car in 1993. Except on his paperwork they accidently wrote V6 instead of the base 2.2L 4. He threatened to sue if they didn’t swap him out for the V6... Surprisingly the dealer swapped him for the V6...
I use to do that all the time in my MKIII Jetta.
Back in 2008, Park Cities VW in Dallas replaced my driver’s side window regulator in my ‘97 Jetta (with 185,000 miles). That’s 11 years old, well outside the warranty in both time and mileage and even outside the extended 7 year warranty for regulators.
