Well obviously I'm partial to VW, but the Jetta's and Passat's have been moving more towards Toyota's brand of beige. I have been considering a Sportswagen or a CC. Or maybe something classic, small and/or European from the 1960's...

We got the kids smartphones around 13 with no service. Basically a glorified iPod. Then at 16, we got them unlimited texting. (T-Mobile $15 prepaid.) After 18 month, or at 17 1/2, they were on their own. If they wanted service, they had to pay for it. Get a job, get a bank account and here's your pin....
