“What, all of five of them?”
“What, all of five of them?”
What a crock of shite. If you’re still hung over from New Year’s Eve, please go sleep it off before posting. There are tons of media that are only too happy to bash Tesla.
Have you forgotten or were you even aware of the controversial piece by John Broder about 3 yrs ago about his unsatisfactory test drive?
Looking at the fire, it appears to have started in the cabin and burned downwards which suggests the fire didn’t start in the main pack.
I’m sure Porsche will release a fine EV that’ll cost at least 50% more than a top-end Model S. Just look at the comparative specs & pricing of the Panamera.
There are RAV4 EVs that are 15+ years old and no reported fires among them that I can find. So the “oily grime-caked” firestarters are yet another reason for passenger ICEs to die.
There are ~100,000 Teslas of all models in the world and total number of fires since 2009 is <10.
Falconwing, not gull, doors can be opened manually and only need power from the 12V battery, not the primary pack.
Newer Superchargers have liquid-cooled cables so it seems Tesla intends to raise the max power even more in the near future.
Okay, good points but they should just dump whatever not selling or is of crap quality. Let Geely, Tata or BYD try to make money off the crud in some backwater market.
Who has Chrysler been outrunning? They’ve been crap back when Carter was President.
From what I’ve heard & seen, driving over there is like living in Carmageddon
It didn’t take long for the conspiracy theorists to weigh in.
Perhaps because they have secrets of their own and didn’t want to bring regulator scrutiny on the whole industry - which is happening right now.
IANAL. I would hope not but even if they could, I think they would have to drop all association with the former brand - and that should include any warranties.
Do you own a Segway?
That was the Better Place vision which successfully demonstrated the tech but couldn’t sell the vision ( and it seems Shai Agassi let his ego get in the way). But I think we have to go to battery swap at some point, at least for larger vehicles.
I can’t see hundreds of millions of EVs being charged by roadside stations
Unfortunately, any battery based on Quantumscape’s tech will likely end up in a VW group car before a Tesla.
I think you meant to say 3 yrs to install an ample amount of Superchargers in most of the countries where Teslas are sold, not just America.
EVs are better than you think - Tesla is not the only game in town although they’re doing more than anyone else to popularize electricification of passenger cars.
“but they just can’t sell a Chevy for $85,000” - no but they certainly tried by wrapping the Volt’s guts in Caddy clothes, slapping a $75,000 starting price and calling it the ELR.
