When you put it that way...
For a while 2011-2013 I DD'd my E30. I still drive it more than my brand new F-150. A week after I bought it, the throwout bearing froze, so new clutch/TO bearing and off we go. She's never broken down on me and mechanically she's simple to work on. Preventative maintenance goes a long way on a 24 year old vehicle.…
I work for a Ford dealer. I have yet to come across a phone that doesn't pair with Sync. 90% of the time, the salesman didn't show the customer how to do it, and they're too technologically inept to open the manual/figure it out. The other 10% of the time it's a hardware/software issue. of that 10%, 90% of the time…
Woosh.
One of my old techs said the only wear parts are the I/O bearings. When you actually look at them, they're simpler than a traditional manual transmission.
The Evoque uses a Ford motor, shouldn't have any issues there.
Actually, the Escape's AWD is not entirely reactionary. If you drive one, there is a display that shows you what wheels are getting power; under heavy acceleration it's sending about 40% to the rear, under full load, it's a 50/50 split. It can react by sending upto 100% to the rear as well.
I had a 1st gen SI, blew up 1st gear and replaced it with a DX 4spd. So if you find an 86 CRX SI with a 4spd manual in white, you'll know it's mine!
I'll give you an example to help illustrate my point. When I started this process more than six months ago, my initial plan was to import a late-2000s "E60" BMW M5 station wagon; the one with the huge V10 and that awful transmission; the one that felt like you were in the car with a 14-year-old whose only previous…
Searchable PDF's you say? Every Ford Owners Manual back to 1996 in searchable PDF.
As you climb inside the F 015 Luxury In Motion, you quickly notice that it includes everything you would expect to see in a modern, state-of-the-art office conference room. Seriously: there are wood floors. There are swivel chairs that face one another. There are screens all over the interior, including on the door…
The last thing I wan to do is drag the process out for you. That is completely false, customer satisfaction is driving dealers now. The manufacturers are tying in funds for things to the CSI. Most dealers tie your pay plan into your CSI score. A volume store would love to have you in and out, that way they can sell…
Tavarish,
They've catered to the safe buyers they already had, boring cars for the last fifteen years. Ford is doing now what they did in the 90's. Every vehicle that Honda made in the 90's was competitive in it's segment. Now? Who would buy a Civic over the plethora of awesome products out there? Shit, even the Accord has been…
Fuck Kinja, This is a reply to user: someoneatacura's post about the the guy that got a sad when Doug accused him of being an Acura employee:
Don't you think Honda did this to themselves? Doug's article may seem like he's ripping the NSX/Acura Press team, but in reality it's a metaphor for business operations at Honda for the last fifteen years.
Don't you think the negative perception of Acura/Honda right now is their own doing?
Focus with a 5spd.
