The trick is to not have a retirement fund...

Yeah, and my merit increase is out the window because of the future losses, not my past performance. This is BS logic, and everyone knows it. Yes, if the timing was different, the dividends would have been paid before this fiasco hit, but that’s not how it happened. The stock market is an investment system, NOT a wage

BMW says the dividends are for past results, not its current standing. And I truly, sincerely applaud the FT for including this quote, which invites you to feel bad for, of all people, the shareholders

Other than the Miata, they’ve seriously dialed down the interesting cars as of late. Mazdaspeed is now long dead. They are in a bit of an identity crisis. I’m afraid there’s no guarantee of an NE Miata happening.

On my third (used) Mazda and will likely continue to purchase them. They’re great enthusiast DDs.  Hopefully Mazda doesn’t succumb to this and can keep putting out interesting cars.

LOL at Ford being a company built upon engineering, more like a company built upon accounting and lobbying

No thread about a GT40 getting to stretch is legs in conjunction with goodwood is complete without my countryman mr Bräck demonstrating how one is driven in the wet

That car getting driven at 10/10ths, at the very limit of traction, on a super narrow, bumpy-ass country road is both terrifying and immensely satisfying.

To be fair, a console will always produce better graphics than a pc of the same cost. Its only when you factor in additional money for the online service, the lower costs of games on pc and the abundance of sales that the money factor is skewed in favor of a pc. Plus, you are missing out on some exclusives (less from

Tim Sweeney ist flat out lying. There are PCIE NVME SSDs already available on the market (at a high price) that eclipse the speeds that have been posted for the NVME SSD in the PS5. There are also alternatives that can achieve about the same speeds and iops for less than 150€ for 1TB.
So the SSD of the PS5 will be a

They are probably going “Nice! Since this is Unreal Engine, which will also be used on my Xbox since it is made by Epic and not Sony, I will have the exact same privilege to use these features when I game. Sweet!”

There will absolutely be games that look like this.  There are games now that are 80% of this already.

No squeezing in that last bit. That was impressive.

A LOT easier to build SSDs and hard drives than cars. Cleaner factories, more spacing for workers, a facility that REQUIRES a high level of cleanliness due to what they make.

This is beautiful.

No games are going to look like this.

LOL even in their tech demo she had to squeeze through a tight space to buy time for rendering.

This describes pretty much every car business.

Holders of Hertz’s asset-backed securities could delay pressuring Hertz to sell down its fleet for a short period of time, but they will need Hertz’s banks to promise to make them whole. The banks, in turn, may not want to take on such a risk, which requires them to bet that either the rental car business or used car

So it turns out Hertz is the same as the people who finance cars to rent them out on Turo.

The only move Hertz has is to unload just enough cars (before the other rental companies do) to get itself financially in a position where they can declare bankruptcy with a hope of coming out of it. That is, get themselves to a financial position pre-bankruptcy to have other investors come in (there is such a concept

I’ve been a Hertz Gold member for nearly 20 years, and I do like the company.  They’ve always treated me very well.  I’m also sorry to see them succumb as part of this overall economic free fall.  That said, my lease is up in 12 months and I hope to return to the CPO fold.  If I can score a great deal, I’m for it.  I
