Depending on your location and use. I think two 30 mile+ commutes to work and my regular shopping via ridesharing-du-jour will be much more than a car payment.

1st Gear: 80% drop in profit still means they are making a profit. I would see this as a pretty good silver lining given the situation. Plenty of others are talking losses.
They are finally back to loading the first time! Even on mobile. Maybe they do want to survive after all!
Not related to the article, but according to Kinja Support they deployed some changes to the comment section last Friday. They seem to be showing up for me now, how about you guys?
How did they manage to pull over a Mercedes doing 191?
Considering that I hate society and commuting, I’ve honestly never been better
It’s wrecked, and not street legal. I don’t see why he shouldn’t swap the motor, especially since it’s not a special edition or something.
I’m not a Mopar fan because of all the rental breakdowns I’ve experienced, but it’s obvious why the Challenger remains so successful. It’s really a terrific looking car. The photos are beautiful, too.
I love how about half of what makes your average ‘really awesome car/architecture/wedding photo’ awesome is actually nature. There’s something deeply comforting in that to me; we make the most beautiful objects we know how, and they are still dwarfed by their surroundings., the products of physics and chance.
Adding android auto is a more complicated thing than most would guess. The reason that AA didn’t get added to Toyotas when CarPlay was added was due to some privacy concerns/disagreements between Toyota and Google. “Sport coupe will not get Android auto, what’s the point of that dumb car”
Why on earth does a company that’s essentially just an App need 26,900 actual employees
And make sure his tetanus is up to date.
I haven’t really been enjoying Jalopnik lately - doesn’t seem to always have the latest news, doesn’t seem to have the personality it once did. Autoplaying videos suck.
Welcome. Please use your influence to fix the current Kinja mess. Also keep things weird here.
Hm. Looks promising. Might have to re-up my Jalopnik Gold subscription.
Those would be for an electromagnetic coil, operating as an induction loop. https://auto.howstuffworks.com/car-driving-safety/safety-regulatory-devices/how-does-a-traffic-light-detect-that-a-car-has-pulled-up-and-is-waiting-for-the-light-to-change.htm
Where do you live that still has pressure plates to trigger the lights? Most intersections here (Greater Vancouver) have moved to an optical system (easier to calculate traffic volumes) and the older intersections have the magnetic coils. I haven’t seen a pressure plate sensor in 20 years, at least not for an…
