Two people I would hate to vote for on a single ticket. Great.

Unless you are the GOP, having an embryo inside you =/= having a “child” and I would assume that would especially be true for folks living in whatever time period GOT is supposed to be set in, where rates of miscarriages were probably pretty high. So I don’t think being pregnant right now and the prophecy of having 3

I am pregnant right now with my second and the fear is overwhelming for me. I have good healthcare, I am highly educated, I even have a doula to help & advocate for me at the time of delivery (as well as my husband), but seeing all of this information about black maternal death is terrifying me and is significantly

“Appropriately post-partum”? My reaction to looking at her was that she looked well beyond what most humans are capable of looking like 7 days post-partum let alone 48 hours. She did have her belly still, but I still definitely thought her look was quite ambitious and not realistic for your avg woman. White dress?

Yes, “brave.” After baby there is still a lot of bleeding/discharge of fluid that occurs, so wearing a white dress is brave/daring/risky/whatever given the likelihood of leakage (that would be quite embarrassing if caught by international news media).

If the brakes are gone, how did he stop almost mid-way up the ramp?  Wouldn’t he have rolled backwards?

I really do not understand what one thing has to do with the other. If he has an attorney speaking for him, his attorney could read and respond to the documents. Even if he was fully literate with a PhD in astrophysics, he wouldn’t be the one responding to legal documents in the first place. He has repeatedly entered

I am sure there is a mix of both (I definitely know folks who strove to be active fathers and even took reduced hours to help them do that), but the men who actively choose work for the purpose of avoiding being with their families exist, and I am sure are not trivial in number.

I agree. My husband is very active and while I ultimately do end up doing more for our daughter (esp when you factor in the “planning” aspect of parenting—looking for doctors, figuring out what new clothes she needs, etc.) he is very involved in the practical aspects, like taking her to school, feeding her, doctors’

Ehhhh...I’m in my late 30s and work at a law firm in NYC and have never seen anyone in my age bracket or younger—man or woman—willingly stay at work longer to avoid their child.

I have no idea what conflict is being talked about here beyond what was written in the above article, but it seems strange for an article in Jezebel to start off by complaining that a criticism waged by another woman about a website criticizing women (even if limited to their fashion choices) shouldn’t exist b/c WOMEN

I don’t even know what that has to do with anything. Obama isn’t running. And I—as a black person who voted for Obama (and Bernie in the last primaries, actually)—would still vote for Warren in the primaries right now over him if he WAS running. I have serious complaints about Obama, but shitting on the past black

OMG.  I still remember when I was in Brownies and we were making trail mix and I opened a box of raisins and there were flies inside.  Still have to triple check any raisin container before I eat them for flies...never thought about maggots too!  I don’t remember any of this being part of all those California Raisins

That is 100% what I thought when I saw this photo quickly.

And there is someone who didn’t go to college at all b/c couldn’t get funding or was scared of even the $20k debt that you have or college wasn’t a luxury b/c they had to work to support their siblings.

This response is particularly maddening given that it is being voiced by many folks in the generation that actually DID have free or close to it college available to them through heavily-subsidized state school programs. So, basically Go F yourself, Grandpa. Your opinion means less than nothing to me.

I always thought Black Panther was way more “feminist” or presented a stronger female hero than Wonder Woman.

My understanding is not that he was ever ordered by a court to pay anything—just some demand letter to reimburse the costs of investigations....which is not actually a thing.

First, dropping charges or not bringing charges despite some evidence is completely within the scope of what prosecutors do on a regular. See, e.g., every police brutality case caught on tape. What did all your lawyer friends say about those being so “unprecedented”?

He was a first time offender. Despite the fact that CPD pulled up 16 charges that his actions could potentially have satisfied and apparently wanted to charge, his sole crime was essentially just filing a false police report and is a misdemeanor. This is part of the underlying problem of the current CJ system. Yes the
