Clarke will do anything to protect her people. That’s been consistent from the beginning. What’s changed, especially with this time jump, is how she defines “her people”. She is a kru of one, Madi.

The interesting thing is that what made her so effective before is actually counterproductive now. Madi has it right.

I continue to love Raven and Echo’s chemistry this season. I really liked the little scene where Murphy brokered a truce between them, especially when Murphy floated the idea that maybe the machine to cure the sick miners didn’t work and Echo immediately exploded, “Of course it works! SHE made it! (gestures at Raven)“

-This show’s starting to lose me, in part because it’s hard to maintain any sort of momentum when it seems to air sporadically

The title of the episode, “Sic Semper Tyrannis” (“thus be it ever to tyrants”) is supposedly (according to some accounts) what John Wilkes Booth said at Ford’s Theater after assassinating good Lincoln. Not sure who it refers to in this episode—I guess both Diyoza and Octavia survive assassination attempts though &

You can’t use the cubicle thing against him; he already mentioned it in his post. Haven’t you seen 8 Mile?

I’m not better. And I do understand thrill-seeking. I’ve done exciting-y stuff before. I’ve just decided it’s ultimately not for me. If someone else decides the opposite, god bless, but you know what you’re getting into and I don’t know that I like the idea of promoting it without acknowledging the clear downsides.

I did say that. I just didn’t spell it out slowly and patiently for the kids who don’t get big words.

Rocky being dropped from the ceiling kills me. From time to time I will search that post out just to laugh.

Yeah I didn’t want to sound like a dick, but when you are an asshole on public land and get charged - you are doing “adventure” wrong. Especially since they are bringing those same stupid ideas to large numbers of people on social media.

The reason a “slip” resulted in a death, and an attempted rescue that resulted in two more deaths, is because they were hanging around the top of some pretty dangerous waterfalls and, pretty clearly, not keeping what most people would say is the right distance.

The part of this whole thing that doesn’t sit right is that the Youtube channel, HighOnLife, started a $100k GoFundMe for the funerals. This group seems like it probably brings in enough money to handle that internally rather than passing the cost onto their consumers. But, also, if these guys have a career built

Especially when they were apparently very well-established douchebags with a history of disrespecting public land.

+1 T

I never really know what to say about people who die while voluntarily doing things where death is a definite possibility for kicks.

Cause of Death: Bonks

Should have stuck to the rivers and the lakes that they used to

Really? I think they sound like a bunch of fuckin assholes who trespass to get instagram pics and are too arrogant to understand the dangers involved with waterfalls etc.

They may have loved nature, but they very clearly did not respect it

I’m sure they were wonderful people, but this sounds like a case of playing stupid games.
