Yes and no. Yes because better security ASSUMING NOBODY GETS THEIR HANDS ON THE DATA, no because loosing the data (via bit rot, an unfortunate static zap, physical damage to the memory, or just having the memory fail due to age) would be catastrophic, especially if there wasn't a backup plan.
