These are interesting changes, but unless Blizz is going to fundamentally alter their development pipeline so that they don’t break the game every gods-damned expansion, it’s all a bit pointless.

What could possibly go wrong about a Horde that prizes victory and conquest over silly things like Honor?
I’ve never understood the sky is falling level of whine. This happens EVERY pre-patch, and yet people lose their shit.
DOS is actually where I got my start in gaming as a kid when my parents got a computer in 1995! I played games like Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle, Psycho Pinball and Raptor: Call of the Shadows!
Let’s hope they don’t lose their way
We need to stop this “I’m entitled to my opinion” non-sense. All opinions are not of value nor should they be respected. I know absolutely nothing about nuclear physics. My opinion on the topic of nuclear physics makes about as much sense as a soup sandwich.
I agree that getting destroyed by Voidlord over and over again really sucks, but I much prefer a taunt-heavy meta to the old “Face hunter or aggro paladin over and over” meta.
This. I play Mage primarily, but I will die before I ever play an Antonidas deck. It’s infuriating and there’s nothing you can DO to prevent it.
It’s like that priest combo that quadruples a minion’s health, and then makes the attack match. THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO. It’s so annoying.
If you start with a hunter, though, make sure you don’t make a night elf male and name it some variant of Legolas, or a female draenei and name it some variant of Neytiri, or you will become a social pariah as everyone will think you’re going to cast barrage every time it’s off CD and pull all the trash in the dungeon.
If it means anything, Bayo 2 knocked a lot of the dumb QTE and instadeath stuff you said out of the way, while improving the enemy tells and smoothing out the overall gameplay.
The key difference here is Capcom has refined MH over the years and created the ultimate version of it, as a game to be played by new and old players for possibly years to come. Destiny is a platform to sell microtransactions and expansion passes to make as much money as humanly possible in the shortest amount of time.
Someone made a compilation of all Mecha Tyrael’s quotes, and the one you mentioned happens a little over 8 minutes in:
The Mecha skins even have lines with each other! First game I played as Mecha Tyrael had a Mecha Abathur on our team. I didn’t catch what Aba said but Tyrael replied with an almost word-for-word quote of Domon’s famous ‘This hand of mine is burning red’ line. I had this going through my head for the rest of the game:
What is worse is that according to Schreier’s book they got in the bloke who saved Diablo III to tell them what mistakes to avoid and they still made them. Twice.
Yep, I think having to rebuild the galaxy how you see fit would have been a great story line alone. Having to redraw those political lines on who is running what, would have been a solid first game. The Kett would have been a perfect way to mix things up in the second game.
I really enjoyed Andromeda. I loved the environments and sense of travel, the cast was enjoyable enough, conversations were mostly good, customization was on par with or better than the original three, etc. But I think you nailed it for me, it felt like they played it “too safe” with a lot of it. And by playing it too…
That’s a really good point! I would agree the Remnant and Kett felt a little recycled, given that they seemed like safe familiar elements in a mass effect game. The Remnant felt like the geth/reapers, while the Kett felt like the collectors. It hit the same beats of ancient tech, sentient machines, and a super race…
The story should have 100% been about discovery and first contact but instead was about a bad guy who wants to take over the Galaxy. Yawn.
FTL drives are expensive, so they aren’t going to go into proton torpedoes. Torpedoes are also tiny with low mass, so the only advantage is that you’d have torpedoes you can’t shoot down. Which... you can’t really anyway due to their speed as it is.
