Haha, yeah, it’s a common misconception. Minnesotans are generally tall and thin compared to most other places, especially in the metro. Pretty much everyone is at least partially Scandinavian. Also people are just really outdoorsy and active. But yeah out of state coworkers from the coasts are always like “everyone

Haha! Thank you — all of this perfectly feeds into our self-mythologizing that no one else in the country/world gives a crap about!

We have Nordstrom(s) in Minneapolis! But we’re apparently trying to brand ourselves as “The North” to align with cool Danes and Swedes instead of the dumpy Midwest.

Do you live in the western suburbs of Minneapolis? Because you just described it to a T.

Also as “punishment” by rednecks and hillbillies for subjecting them to the misery of a brilliant black man as president.

Real question which I would love to debate with fellow history/political history fans: Is this the worst thing that’s happened to our country, in terms of our standing on the world stage? So I’m kind of talking post-WWII which to me is when we assumed the whole “superpower” role that we hold currently. Or is it soon

Sadly there isn’t an opportunity for a full-on sea change in 2018 as there are only 9 republicans up for re-election and 20-some democrats, most in solidly Trumpian states. But we can at least hopefully stem the tide and send a message if any of those 9 lose their seats. Gubernatorial elections matter too of course!

I would wager no, and no. Sessions has been Trump’s fanboy lapdog for his whole rise to his current position. He was the first (and for quite a while) only Senator to support him. He’s on the Brietbart train — Trump’s advisor Stephen Miller (who’s Bannon’s ideological colleague) worked in Sessions’ office before Cory

Do normal plebs have juicy email? Like chatty email conversations? My whole email account is bill pay confirmations (for unexciting things like student loans), emails back and forth with local govt reps about community building stuff, and coordinating volunteer efforts at Planned Parenthood. And some requests from

Does the GOP understand that since they control basically the entire government, they are now fully accountable for the performance of little things like the healthcare system and our schools? It might be easy to preach lower taxes and necessitate the gutting of these institutions when you have Dems in power to point

Good to know, thank you!

Hey, thank you! I have tried the regular alpha beta daily peel, but haven’t tried the sensitive skin one or the one with retinol/ferulic. I’ll check that retinol peel out — would it have the same benefits as a retinol serum though? Since it’s not on as long?

Can I ask you a skin care question? My skin has hated most retinols I’ve tried, but I have some mild forehead wrinkles and acne, so it seems like it would be the ideal treatment. Can you recommend one that is effective but gentle? My skin hated Luna oil FYI. I’m 31 and have combination skin with small pores (easily

This is where I’m at too. I got the email indicating my docs were accepted on 10/31, 3 days after I submitted them, and now I’m still waiting for the offer to come through. Just got off the phone with a claims representative (only a few minutes hold time so that was good) and she stated that both VW and the auditor

I wonder if there could be a similar explanation to the Somerton man of Australia? Could he have been a Pacific theater version? Apologies if someone already brought this up downthread.

Just drove my BFF’s brand new XC90 last night. The handling is pretty incredible considering how big it is. Twin turbo has some giddyup, but shifting wasn’t super smooth (compared to my BMW anyway). It’s insanely gorgeous though. He got upgraded leather and sound system and both were fantastic. All around a great

Honestly a big part of it was the back seat — my family lives 4 hours from me and my brother and his gf tend to ride with me to visit them, plus my parents ride with me when they visit, so I didn’t want to cram them in the tiny back. Also just availability since I bought used.

Interesting — I drive a ‘16 328 and I think the A3 is more up to date and fun. I do hate the “fake manual” shifter on the A3 though. Definitely a matter of taste! Either way I think the BMW is a better value overall and most definitely more fun to drive than an A3, and maybe a superfan would say moreso than an S3. I’d

Yeah the HP/torque on the S3 isn’t that much higher than the 328 and it gets way worse mileage, with a smaller package. Audi interior and tech definitely beats the 3-Series though, so if that’s what someone goes for then this would be the choice for them.

Haha — I totally picked a BMW over a Volvo myself! But because it offered better driving and looks for the money, at least to my taste. Would have preferred something more under the radar, but couldn’t find anything I liked to drive as much as the 3-Series.
