And unlike the woman in the story above, you didn’t use his name when retelling this story just now, and publicly shame him for making a dumbass mistake that quite rightfully pissed you off. I wish Gawker media (and I suppose other parts of the Internnet but they are among the worst) would follow your example.

So unless you’re friends with someone its always innappropriate to comment on appearance? How about at a bar where they’ve been flirting with you and you’ve enjoyed it? Are online dating site’s okay? Is it okay to swipe right on Tinder based on appearance even if they’re not your friend? Like you say, context seems

“In other words, men who choose to hit on women in professional settings must accept the risk in doing so.”

As I understand the rules changed after the fact. Still the hyper-secretive and overly defensive Clinton playbook of course, but doubt there’s any huge coverup as the emails were sent to others who could then expose her if anything truly terrible.

This is a feminist site? “Christine Ouzounian, former nanny to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s kids and to Affleck’s sexual needs”. I thought she was an adult woman not a sexual object.

Topical doesn’t equal funny. Simply having someone do an impression of a currently-in-the-news celebrity isn’t a joke. And the Colin Jost may be a strong writer and a lovely guy but he’s not doing well on Weekend Update at all. Cecily Strong alone would’ve been fantastic (or Mulaney, had Lorne given him the shot.)

"But there's no exchange happening; to my knowledge, nobody has made sincere, non-window dressing attempts to meet with each other without the flinching presence of the administration"

Except for the part where the rugby team president, along with some fellow members, personally approached the other side, in a public

I learned in it at some point in elementary school. In that version, "She was tall and thin" as I would not have understood "tight and thin" back then. It had sex in it so I thought it was funny at the time.

I think he's making the same point. He feels she's a bad spokesperson for this cause as she has not suffered the discrimination that female literary novelists face (as she is not a literary fiction writer but a popular fiction writer.)

Because of measles? That was in Disneyland, not Disneyworld. Or just because they're young? Just avoid Space Mountain and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and they'll be fine.

She's a phenomenal talent but as far as one can tell she doesn't seem likely to want the job.

And here I was thinking Beetlejuice...

And now having heard his later comments it apparently wasn't a joke. Like Obama said, Kanye's a jackass.

It seemed like Kanye was doing it to get a laugh — making fun of himself even. I thought it was great.

But Sea Change was so much better, I thought (and more of a surprise at the time for sure.)

At least she's consistent... (Consistently awful towards the rights of women in many of our eyes, that is)...

Eh, she's the female lead in a movie that has been the number one movie in America for weeks, a movie also nominated for best picture (that also may sell more tickets than all the other best picture nominees combined), and she's super pretty. Doesn't seem so crazy to be on some magazine covers.

It certainly deserves a best director and best actor nomination, but comparing art seems is always odd to me (especially as studios launch "campaigns" to show their art is better than others. Such an odd custom, when it's really just a marketing ploy in the end.) I see getting a best picture nomination as pretty

Selma was nominated for best picture. Is that overlooked?
