I was just starting to price one out to attempt to lease. And I was throwing in all the dumb extras I could want, since I plan(ned) to run this truck into the ground over the next 20+ years or whatever. I pinged up at around $31K for an XLT with a bunch of bells and whistles.

Only for the dealership to say “We’re all

I’ve been trying to order a hybrid for 3 weeks now, with no luck. Called Ford two days ago and was told by two sperate reps the hybrid orders after 11/08/21 are being canceled.
They did try and upsell me to an Ecoboost- something I have no interest in. BrianGriffin has no patience for this is correct about orders

I ordered mine as a replacement for my F150, plenty of truck for 99% of what I need at over double the fuel economy and I can always borrow a half ton if I need to.

I saw quite a few near me too, but every single one of them was already sold and the dealer was just listing them to get traffic to their site.

I believe the reports of dealers pricing regular cars with market adjustments are greatly exaggerated. I just went to 3 different Ford dealers in SE Michigan to price out a few vehicles and the only constant was that they’d generally not add a “Market Adjustment” Unless it was a high-demand vehicle with only 1 example

It’s funny you say that. I want a Maverick as an alternative to a Civic - essentially i see the Maverick as a sedan with a more flexible trunk (when equipped with a cover). People comparing it to a TRUCK are missing the appeal to a lot of buyers.

Honestly, even with all the wrenching in front of you, you’re still living the the way you want to live, so whilst some peeps say you have a problem, end of the day you ain’t hurting anyone and you’re learning as you’re fixing. We need more peeps fixing up old stuff, rather than simply junking it.

You are way past me, I have four vehicles and I often think it might have to be three at some point. As hard as it is to let things go....

Regarding the Lexus “self repairing” brakes:

It’ll be worth it.

I miss my 1966 Mustang. Such a great car. It had the 289 K-code (Hi-Po) in it with a manual in Wimbledon White. I bought it in 1991 when I was 15 years old. Yeah, the heat/ defrost didnt work well and my buddies would have to wipe the inside of the windshield when it was cold and I was driving but that thing was such

David is one of the reasons why I just can’t quit Jalopnik. The DT saga keeps me coming back. In the spirt of Thanksgiving, thank you!

Translation: Already wickedly expensive cars are going to become more wickedly expensive due to government regulations.

The windshield on my 2010 Honda Element had to be replaced seven times in the eight years I owned it. With lane departure tech, that would be seven dealership trips for “recalibration” instead of having the auto glass people replace it in my driveway in an hour or less.

Cool, so we’re going to have way more expensive, heavy, flaky cars with more distracted drivers “in control” of them. Swell. Just swell.

I’ve gotten one duck in a Walmart parking lot. Tossed it. Also sick of the wave. Pay attention to your driving.

Sport’ was the ‘Active Lifestyle’ of the 70s and 80s.

Not to mention a back seat that felt like being in a dark cave...not as bad on the Colonnade coupes but a real issue for the ‘79-’86 Riv/Toro/Eldo.

Back when “small” American 2 door cars were the length of full sized vans.

I really liked Eternals. I liked all the Marvel films this year. Sure the big explosive end of Black Widow was kind of meh but all the family stuff was awesome and I loved every moment of it. And Shang-Chi was just so much fun and beautiful and touching and had both dragon and Wong doing karaoke and what more can one
