That’s setting the bar pretty low, considering you’re basically comparing it to the boxy Cavalier/Sunbird, the Beretta, and the *gag* Corsica... I grew up around Metro Detroit, and that doesn’t change my acceptance that pretty much every American car back then was just absolutely miserable.

The red-top battery caught my eye as well.

The stupid thing is that the front wheels can fall off anything if the lugs aren’t properly tightened. Local tire shop failed to tighten the lugs on my daughters front driver’s side wheel and it almost made it all the way off before she got it stopped and asked for help -- with only one lug still partially engaged.

I don’t get being “peeved” about a recall. They figured out that there was a problem, they identified the vehicles potentially affected, and they are going to fix the problem. As opposed to days past when they would have probably just ignored the problem until/unless a bunch of people died. There is NO company today

My pants detach in favor of shorts pretty much every evening as soon as I get home. Does the NHTSA care? No. But when Ford detaches a wheel here or there, suddenly they matter. Damn corporations.

I’d imagine it also sat in a garage.

45.  I owned many a TurboDodge.  They’re not that hard to fix :)

Is the manny wasted: depends.

Yeah, this color combo is too somber. Also... Is a manual transmission wasted on this? I think I’d rather just have the auto for easy cruising. I’m not going to wring out this floppy open top car anyway. I'd get this to pretend I'm Ben Gazzara and just cruise the back roads of the town I own.

It’s around 5k a year, so they didn’t drive the wheels off of it. I’d imagine it also sat in a garage.

I would unironically drive this ironically. I always thought the LeBarons were very sharp coupes for the period and especially so for the convertibles.

Not my thing either, but even a failing turbo at this price isn’t terrible.

Shame me or flame me but I always thought the Lebaron coupe was one of the prettiest modern Chryslers. It was the waning era of the “PLC”, but adapted for the times. This one is the middle of the run- you have the revised dash and interior (neutral), but it still retains the headlight covers instead of the awkward

I want it, too. This is very much the midlife crisis car I’ve always wanted, but that price still seems a little high.

You are CORRECT, intercooler breath!  (Sorry, old Johnny Carson routine).   I was just assuming anything small and tech back then would have been Japanese.  Story time-a friend of mine won a black and gold Dodge Colt Turbo in a national rally competition.  Turbo lasted about 50k after which he drove it normally

NP because I rented on one vacation in Cali back in the day and it was a fun car as long as you didn’t expect sports car acceleration or handling.

NP I put aside all my hatred of K-cars and their terrible progeny. The ragtop caught my interest and then the row-yer-own tranny convinced me “This one will be different!” Nicely preserved and obviously cared for.

The 2.2L was a Chrysler. The Mitsu was a 2.6L .

A Chrysler turbo with 150k on it?  What could possibly go wrong?  I NP’ed it anyway.

The overall presentation is let down by the interior. Not that the interior is in rough shape; it’s in pretty good condition especially considering its age and experience.
