All of this. If Melania Trump comes out and says Donald is abusive to her - be it tomorrow, or in 10 years time when he’s finally dead and whatever NDA she presumably signed when she married him has lapsed, then I will believe her in a heartbeat. But I find it disturbing - but dully unsurprising - that so many people

While I agree with that sentiment, that narrative doesn’t even come into play until the person recognizes and admits they’re being abused.

This 1000 times. It’s hard to leave. Abusers make it seem impossible. But it’s not (of course, there are awful, extreme cases) and so I run out of sympathy some times for my friends who will acknowledge that their boyfriends/husbands are awful to them but they go back or stay because of various reasons. And the idea

Plus, aren’t we already in danger of spreading ourselves too thin fighting the policies her spouse endorses? Why do we have to reserve even more understanding and empathy for people who will have way more power than we can hope to have? My resources are finite, and others take priority.

Actually, as a survivor of child abuse with CPSTD (the kind of PTSD you get from being in a situation with no real or perceived avenue of escape for a prolonged period of time), I think it’s incredibly important to crush that narrative. When someone is abusing you, you have a perceived sense of helplessness and loss

“Who in the hell is this Democrat-come-lately to scold Democrats on all they’ve done wrong?”

This is so good. And mirrors so much of what I feel. Hopeless and angry and just so fucking full of rage at the class of men that I don’t know what to do with myself.

This is what’s wrong with America right here. This. Not Bristol Palin herself, but what she represents — the fact that so many stunningly, proudly pig-ignorant, determinedly undereducated, information-resistant people think they know enough about anything to tell others how they should think and behave.

It’s a Michael Palin minus the brain, wit, charm and penis.

“This is the kind of stuff Bristol needs to STAY out of.”

Yes, Bristol, you’re absolutely right. The police who dragged a 14-year-old out of school in handcuffs for building a science project and subjected him to hours of racist interrogation without allowing him access to a lawyer or his parents are the real victims here. The police and white people everywhere. Can’t put

did you just fat shame a baby

Hope he got those delivery drivers to sign releases or his next edgy film series is going to be called Babes In Civil Court.

God seems to be deaf on this issue, since dead kids keep turning up due to stupid parents.

He's probably too busy making sure the right football team wins the Super Bowl.

It's not "The Criminals" getting kids killed or shooting up schools. As far as I'm concerned, they can have their guns. It's the regular citizens that I'm worried about.

are we sure she's not Lyon about the five year old being the one who pulled the trigger?

The gun, which was loaded and unsecured, was stored on a shelf built into the bed in the victim's home, and in the same room in which the victim was laying in his crib.

"The state will assemble a child fatality review board to determine whether the parents should be charged with a crime."

We bought a bio-locking safe for the gun I keep for home defense. It can only be opened with my fingerprint. Hopefully, my kid will never even see the safe. But if she does, I'm going to tell her that it's a trap for the souls of little children to be transported to the Containment Unit, where they don't get any toys

Why are we praying for them, exactly? Did the neighbor say? I will assume we should pray that they are never again SO FUCKING STUPID as to fail to control their firearms.
