I couldn't work out what the shape of the thing was from the first picture, there colour layout just drew my eyes into too many different directions. Once I got the hang of it, I could really appreciate them!
I watched this episode this week for the first time (yes, I know), and I thought there was going to be some immense conclusion, but it just seemed to fall so flat for me.
Well, the point is more it's a proper, repeating font, all the 'e's are exactly the same. A sign like that would almost certainly have been handwritten back then, it was just cheaper and faster.
