Shooting someone removes all doubt that they were murdered. Causing the plane they’re in to crash provides enough ambiguity that the slower members of society (yourself included) won’t get too suspicious.

You may be a bigger moron than the other guy. A plane balances itself on its wings during flight and having the front 1/3 of the plane blown off will cause it to immediately go nose up. The wings would snap before they would provide aerodynamic lift in the traditional sense, so no, it wouldn’t climb. Nor did it.
