The LH platform DID use a longitudinal engine for FWD. :)

You all know this line of thought is very much outdated, right?

Finally, right? I was so glad with the 8HP pushed out the last vestiges of hand me down and got rid of the A580.

The worst part about the way the LX has gone down is that people really do believe it to be "just an old E-class". Fact is, the LH was designed from the onset to support RWD and was moving in the direction of LX. MB pawned off some rear suspension hard points from the W210 and the 5AW580 and everyone thought the car

Let's just HOPE the regular grille is an easy swap and the tailgate letters are only stuck on with no holes in sheet metal.

It's amazing how timely this is as I sit here contemplating a [higher] mileage E60 M5 . . . 6MT.

Actually they were on nearly every measurable front. Financially solid - minting money. Production wise they were one of the most efficient on the planet, even in comparison to Toyota. Time to market from concept to production faster than anyone else. And quality levels were above average for industry at the time

Truck STYLING is what changed after 1994. The '94 Ram broke the mold for truck styling.

I had one as a rental and while it was fairly nice, I just could NOT find a comfortable driving position in that thing. I'll take my 2014 GC any day.

Concept cars have their uses. Look at cars like the Viper. Consumer reaction was SO strong Chrysler built it.

Neutral: EVs In The U.S. A Failure Or Success? Is 280,000 pretty good or kind of awful?

Mosler is insanity in car form. If you want to blow some minds, show up anywhere fancy in a Consulier, or one of the even more insane variants like the Raptor. It'll work, trust me.

Yes, 3/4 has them for sure. Can't recall of the 1 ton does. Makes a huge difference in the ride though, plus those cab mounts. I'd wager that Ram's current 3/4 ton rides as well as a leaf sprung 1/2 ton. The Ram half-ton rides like a dream.

That fifth wheel in the photo above is a pretty small fifth wheel. I don't see this hauling any serious goose neck trailers to compete with HD trucks. If you need a fifth wheel instead of towing off the bumper, you should be using an HD truck not a hopped up half ton.

Actually the newest HD pickups ride surprisingly well (see: Ram HD with coil spring suspension and hydraulic cab mounts). Again, if you NEED that much towing capability, buy the proper truck.

Very nice . . . can't wait to see the tuner market get a hold of this. I'd imagine Nth Moto and some others will make this thing plain nutty.

Ford is up there in their tow ratings. Ram and GM haven't gotten as far on the crazy train yet for the half tons.

Perhaps but I'm not quite sure that translates in the truck market. I can't see mass quantities of Ram, Ford, GM buyers heading to the Nissan dealer just because it can tow 12,000 lbs. Not the way the truck market works.

Meh, other than the Cummins it'll be another also ran. Why do OEMs keep insisting on pushing the envelope higher on half ton trucks? That V8 Cummins is very nice, but if you need to truly tow 12,000 lbs you should be in a 3/4 ton, minimum.
