I thought it instilled the main narrative with the depth GTA IV wanted to have and that GTA V basically ignored.

Right? Marston was introspective. That was part of the game’s charm. To just exist in the world, rather than run through it.

Not playing as John Marston will be tough, but I can see why they switched the characters.

Then you must have hated playing as three psychopaths in GTA V

I’m guessing it’ll end around the point where Marston quits the group. Maybe he’ll be the final fight, or something. Otherwise, it’ll probably be closer to GTA in that you are a criminal throughout.

Man.. I was really hoping that all the rumors and hints indicating it was a prequel were wrong, that it was a prequel in setting only (since RDR takes place at the end of the Old West), but nope.

That’s exactly why I didn’t like the newest GTA games but I loved the first Red Dead. I’m in the same boat as OP.

Aw man, Rockstar went their typical “you play the criminal” route? Bummer. That almost surely means I won’t play this to completion, or much at all. I struggle to play games where you’re an asshole criminal.

I will forever take issue with games that are labeled as sequels but are actually prequels.

Weirdly I came to this thread because people are misreading this as “Mario is actually punching Yoshi” instead of “was originally punching Yoshi”. <_<

So we should be clear that in the actual game and final work, he’s NOT punching Yoshi. Seriously, we don’t need PETA going after Mario with yet another dumb ass campaign.

Nice rant bro, maybe do some of that thinking ahead before ranting when it’s uncalled for, though? I’m not being a jackass, I literally mean the literal definition is literally someone who is resistant to change, and I know what the word literal means.

That is the literal definition of conservative; resistant to change

There’s no problem with sticking with it, the problem is all of the whining from the Melee community about the rest of the world moving on and not supporting a 14 year old game.

Dale’s an institution in Dallas. He’s not getting run out of town.

Not OP, just another (white) vet. I have no idea when Aces_Over_Kings served, but I’m a relatively younger vet (‘08 until medical separation in ‘12, turning 30 real soon) and every one of my friends from the service (and by extension the others they have talked to, in discussions with them) 100% absolutely support

Sure is interesting how this gentleman, and most of the other veterans I know (myself included) have become this endangered species whose feelings and honor must be protected by the brave patriots in the bleachers and on twitter!

GOD do I love Miami Connection. It’s definitely something that exists.

You probably mean Miami Connection, but yeah, the comparison is apt. They’re both not only bad in a “somebody failed to achieve even basic competence in what is expected from a movie”. They’re more like “those people don’t have the slightest idea of what a competent movie should look like”. But it’s the fact that
