Man, you say that about everything! Something doesn’t have to be completely broken to be objectively inferior to a version that doesn’t require tons of effort and rationalization to master. If lots of otherwise competant people have a problem with it, it’s bad design.

I don’t think Ocarina of Time is overrated. I think it’s a remarkable game. But in 2017, it no longer has the same “holy shit video games can DO this?” power that it did in 1998.

Oracle of Ages/Seasons in top 3? I approve. I encourage every gamer to play these games. Honestly my favorite GBC games, even over Pokemon.

Your dad would be proud at what an insufferable fuck you’ve grown into. Good to know you’re the only person who’s ever suffered loss in the world.

I feel for your pain. And I’m going to try to say this in the nicest way possible, but ... he wasn’t the entire country’s father.

I remember rooting for the Patriots in Super Bowk 36. Biggest mistake of my life. The veneer victimhood these assholes have surrounded themselves in as they run roughshod over the league is a truly astounding act of self-deception.

Even their booing of Goodell is tainted. Everyone else hates him because of bullshit like punishing weed worse than domestic violence, covering up CTE, or arbitrary bullshit like punishing players for celebrating or wearing the wrong shoes.

Go Falcons.

Well that’s the rub. Literally everyone, no matter how noble they think they’re being, is playing into Aldmeri hands one way or another.

Oh they hammered it in over and over. you basically can’t even get through an initial conversation with Ulfric without a “those damn darkies” reference to the dark elves. Hell, if I’m not mistaken you can’t even get to him without encountering at least one scripted incident of sanctioned racism in Windhelm.

I liked Shenmue fine.
Forklifts are now a high-anxiety vehicle for me now, though.

The really mind-blowing part was when you find a secret dossier that !!!SPOILER!!! Ulfric Stormcloak is actually a Thalmor stooge whose sole purpose is to keep Skyrim divided and weak !!!SPOILER!!!

I agree that the Stormcloak route feels more “natural,” at least at the very beginning. I intended to side with them during my latest playthrough however and just couldn’t do it. The moment I walk into Windhelm and they’re screaming at Dark Elves and confining Argonians to ghettos is the moment they lose me. Racism is

I was planning on heading straight to Windhelm right up until I heard some NPC say “Ulfric Stormcloak is going to make Skyrim great again!”

Call them anyway! Look at how Ben Carson’s appointment to HUD Secretary cruised through committee before the protests coalesced and people got busy. Democrats voted for him, because they didn’t have a million boots up their asses. They can’t be trusted. We are the checks and balances, now.

And maybe I’m wrong, but it sort of feels like the game tries to push you in the direction of the Stormcloaks. You start off by hanging out with them in the cart, the general aversion that anyone whose seen Star Wars is going to have for the “empire”. I usually went with the legion or just skipped that quest line

Jesus Christ that whole civil war is a microcosm for current events, isn’t it? From one party who would spend all day telling people what to do but at least pretend to be reasonable to another that professes freedom while missing the point of such freedom entirely.

This post is Hitler’s wet dream. I am also a regular person with all the same stuff you have, yet I also manage to be able to have some small amount of empathy and compassion.

I had another one who, when i asked how he was, he replied “why should I answer, you don’t really care”. We then got into the deepest conversation a drunk 25 year old from Chicago and a Somali cabbie could ever possibly have at 3am on a Sunday morning. Wouldn’t get out of the cab until he finally told me how he was.

Yep, FDR wanted to appear physically strong and able through the Depression and the war, to inspire confidence. And in fact, it took a lot of physical strength to stand and move around (even with help) in those leg braces.
