Even the head of Kathleen Kennedy explicitly said before TFA came out that the Episodes were all about continuing the story of a new generation of Skywalkers, and they were making the other films to explore other stories in the universe.

I hope they get Tom Waits for the NA localization.
Contouring!
My favorite thing about that hashtag is that they’ve already shown Doomsday, so even they have made it clear that the fight is a smokescreen and thus the hashtag is pointless even within their own marketing.
They mostly just didn’t give her much to do other than sulk, fight awkwardly for a second, and then run off. Hopefully her character is a bit deeper this time around.
One shot of the Mercedes was just incredible. Older son says something like “You wanna see something really cool?” and then BAM a shot of a Mercedes driving down a jungle road. Fucking beautiful.
Beautiful.

Man, you must’ve been sitting through Batman Begins thinking “Ah, shit! So close!”
What’s everyone’s thoughts on Chibnall? I haven’t seen Broadchurch, so I don’t really know him. Early internet reaction seems to be “yawn.”
Oh my God. That “I’m stupid” conversation had both my girlfriend and I looking everywhere but the TV trying to hold it together.
I recall the reporters even pointing out that Halbach’s murder had been somewhat lost as the central issue (I think to her brother?), but that the Defense forced the narrative that way. I’d say it was the Prosecutions inability to build a coherent timeline.
Also it’s not like “ominous chanting and drones” are really that original music for Evil Dudes.
Haha. While I agree the politics of the new universe could have been better explained, I do enjoy the bitter irony that a lot of what people want more of is the stuff the prequels (badly) gave us in spades.
I do wonder how TFA would have done comparatively if it had been a summer release.
Kathleen Kennedy said that.
Wait, Darth Maul came back?
