You also really need him there to give the audience a connection to the dogfighting scenes beyond “this look awesome.” If it had been nothing but characters we didn’t know until that moment, I don’t think it would have worked.
I’m still constantly baffled that Jurassic World made so much money. It feels like people turned on that movie really quick or just didn’t enjoy it outright. Doesn’t seem like the kind of film that would net that much money, but I guess the name really worked in its favor.
They’re just trying to keep to the quality ratio of 4, 5, and 6.
I actually enjoyed the use of 3D in the film. It wasn’t in your face a lot, but the way it added some depth to certain scenes (particularly Rey’s intro) was really great.
Against the Day is probably my favorite of his (even if it’s the messiest), and it’s definitely tough to pin down. It’s so much fun, though.

It’s anecdotal and thus bullshit, but I know plenty of people who didn’t really feel the desire to donate mostly because more of the original cast wasn’t coming back in any real form(sprinkled with some “but why? it had a good run.”).
