@Kuwabara Kazuo: I cannot for the life of me fathom the love for Dead Space. In my humble opinion, they relied way too heavily on film tropes and didn't focus enough on making the game scary as a game.

@gutlesswonder: Everything you just said is bullshit. Watch this:
@GM_Pax: Damn, you beat me to it.
@Archaotic: If you had said this about a year or two ago, I would've disagreed, but somehow, this sentiment is savory to me...
@Macloserboy: Failed from your point of view...
@Garrison Dean: R.O.A.C.H.: The sad thing is, that actually makes sense. I could probably turn that into an essay and have it pass.
@Shikome: It's probably that I REALLY don't understand Japanese culture, but this seems like the product of a couple of friends making a long winded joke that nobody but them will get. Vocaloid character in a transforming mech, that was cool. Everything else...? I know if I try to make sense of it my brain will melt.
@Killer Toilet: I'm seeing dozens of these contraptions flying down the highway, zipping in and out of traffic.
This is great, I'm taking a seminar on angels and demons in literature and just finished reading Dr. Faustus, and then find myself here. Even if fake, the well audio is just god damn creepy.
It's possible... Probably ridiculously difficult, but possible. It seems like there aren't many games that Americans love which Japanese love too, but if you look at the Japanese games that Americans love, I'm sure you can pick apart what's jiving over seas. Meaning, Metal Gear, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, among…
Wow... I don't know how many years playing Playstation, and it all makes sense now.
@Sharkey1337: That's exactly what I was thinking. Shit... I don't care if I can't afford it, I need to buy the game!
@MrGOH: Well maybe not political so much as social. She tends to lean to the conservative side of things. If you read the Gears of War tie-ins it's rife with biting commentary about the role of a citizen within a government. And I don't remember the exact quote but in one of the Republic Commando novels she said…
Politics is one of the main sweeps of things that get involved in a story, pretty much since forever. But, in my mind it's like the difference between South Park and Family Guy. You can intelligently critique (albeit through "low" means or whatever else) society, politics, yadda yadda, or you can use the work as a…
@fun_fan: For number 3, yes. Which to me speaks volumes about hope for something more "literary." Although, I've got no bones about how Gears 1 and 2 played out. I'm not saying they're without flaws, but I'm way away from the "NOT GOOD WRITING" rage wagon.
@fun_fan: Trust me, they are. Karen did an amazing job of taking some admittedly flat characters and fleshing them out while keeping them...the same. I mean, they in no way deviate from "who they are," but they're more human.
@PlaidNinja: Fair enough. I think one of my big issues was the alien half breed and that fucked up little maternal/romance scene with Ripley. Maybe that could've been directed in a better way... Meh.
@Guicciardini: I'm never really going to get over his script for Alien: Resurrection...
I was so hoping this was actual furniture... Totally would've gone for the Slave 1 couch. If I had room...
I'm probably getting this completely wrong but...
