Not to defend the Gladiator too much, but I know a guy who is a serious contractor who uses the shit out of his Ridgeline and loves it. Those things have about the same size bed, and it hauls his big toolbox and his gear nicely. Just because it isn’t an 8 foot bed doesn’t mean it’s only good for hauling a few bags of

If they dropped safety equipment and things like sound deadening and nice materials in favor of light ones, then no one would buy them and the car would fail. With the choice between a creaky, loud and jarring interior in one, and a nice, refined interior on another, but weighs 200lbs more, 95% of new car buyers are

Well that’s disappointing.

I think that’s smart. It’s funnier than I thought it would be. We only saw it in theater because my lady and I have a weird thing for the F&F movies, it’s become a thing for us.

It was incredibly stupid, but entertaining. The part that bugged me the most was all the CGI car stunts. The F&F franchise has always been pretty good about this in the past, so it was disappointing to see here.

Dude, I know they were turbo as well, the point is there is a lot more you can do to tune a turbo engine than NA motors. The new diesels run insane amounts of boost these days. Also, did you completely ignore my point about getting around emissions restrictions with DEF in diesel? It’s not like they couldn’t get more

Like I said on the diesels, being turbocharged and the major advancements coming from figuring out how to make power while staying within emissions regulations is why they were able to make such huge gains. It’s necessarily that they were able to make such crazy advancements in getting more power out of diesel fuel,

That’s kind of the thing though, you seem to be cherry picking numbers from different times and variants in the platforms history and combining them to fit your point. For instance, you quoted 475 peak torque and are implying that’s at 1200 RPM. However, the only version of the engine that I can see made its peak

Where are you getting your figures for the Vortec? As far as I can tell, the 8.1 that actually made it into the trucks never made the powers you’re quoting. That engine made big power in other applications, but not on the consumer truck market.

Nice.

Probably a little more hardcore than people thought they wanted, and when it came down to the reality of them they realized they wanted the looks more than the reality

Wanna go halfsies?

They actually do have backup mechanical latches. The guy who died just didn’t know where it was :(

Is curb weight the only measurement that matters for cost? Also “only 300 lbs” is 10% of the weight of the GT sounds pretty substantial to me.

Back in my day real Corvettes had metal exposed fasteners and we were thankful for it!

I weirdly dig that color.

Down with HHFP and the logical horse he rode in on!

You take your logic and reasoning and git on outta here! Git!!

Woah, that’s kinda cool actually

Shit, I have a 2.7t allroad and am thinking about buying a V8 Touareg... Is your friend me from the future?
