Actually Matt spent a shitload of money on this build, he was pretty candid about what he got for free on his podcast, and also on how much he spent on it — which was a lot.
Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. A guy I work with has 90k miles on his Focus ST and hasn’t had any real issues.

The point is that we knew it was going to be a collaboration between Toyota and BMW, we didn’t know it was going to be a BMW with some Toyota body panels on it. I enjoyed the detail of the article.
