I don’t agree with what’s going on here, but I don’t think this makes them scumbags. I think this is a difference in belief of what needs to be done to protect our country. I’ve got quite a few veterans in my family that are very patriotic, and also genuinely good, caring people.

By your argument, there should be no reason to wear sunglasses while driving, since you’re shaded by the roof of the car.

I think this is more a case of different beliefs in what they’re doing than EVERY person under the payroll of the Border Patrol being self-absorbed scumbags.

True, but I’ve never been asked anything more than where I’m headed and where I’m coming from. Even at the Yuma checkpoint on the 8 where the last hour of that drive is literally in view of the border fence, lol.

Or maybe they’re posted out in the bright desert all day and it just makes sense to wear sunglasses...? It’s pretty reasonable for anyone that works outdoors for a living to wear sunglasses, especially in a place that very rarely has inclement weather.
