The listed prices were just what it took to get it running, not including accessories after the fact.

Haha I’ll keep an eye out!

Haha I will not be running solo out there if I can help it

Nope! All stock wiring

Ok, you got me there. They’re not that bad.

Getting like 20mpg right now. Not great at all

Yep, I actually lived in Escondido for years! Now living in Poway area.

Between the IPP arms dropping level 1 lower and the big tires, I think it makes it look super low. Level 1 is completely unusable for me, which means I have to be very careful to not go about 80mph or so, haha. I’m working on a solution for that in VCDS though.

Nice! I definitely want to see that!

Thanks man! I’ve actually been eyeing yours for a while. God I’m jealous of that red.

I didn’t choose the title. It’s no Jeep, but I think this thing would surprise you.

They’re very rare, but they did ship some from the factory with a manual transmission. I honestly wouldn’t have bought it if it was a Tiptronic.

Thanks man! I agree, I don’t blame the guy at all for negotiating for so long. I mean the tires were brand new and had to be at least $700 in themselves.

That’s a good point. I might test out how much the aluminum rails can handle and see if I could. That would make this a truly awesome camping machine!

Thanks man!

I read through that twice! Really wish he hadn’t abandoned the project. It had so much potential!

With the big tires and what I intend to do with it, there just isn’t any point in going for big power. It’s plenty quick with the stage 1 tune for now, and I would like to keep at least some semblance of reliability (you know, as far as Allroads go).

They come with the same 2.0T VW uses in just about everything right now, so I think those engines are pretty well sorted out by now. Also, no air suspension to contend with.

For offroading? You’re even crazier than me!

There are coilover conversion kits available, they just sit at normal suspension level 2 or below. Somewhere down the line there will probably be some custom suspension work in my future.
