As a manual driver I hate the dual setting in my MINI as you have to recalibrate your throttle inputs for shifting based on each setting's map. So I actually prefer sport for all driving - at least in the JCW it seems to dial in more burble and pop on the exhaust which makes DC commutes slightly more bearable.

Lufthansa actually "serves" cities via train - I booked a flight from Stuttgart to Paris and the first leg was actually a train to Frankfurt. They had a whole ticket office / check-in counter at the train station and the whole experience was surprisingly fast and convenient.
