I agree. Lots of people just see that their dash is lit up and decide they're good to go. I'm constantly flashing people or turning mine on/off to get them to turn theirs ON!

Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

I see where you're going with this. I think. Turn off your damn cell phone!

Perhaps the police know that pulling over judges may be detrimental.

I love almost everything about this car. The 944 is the second best candidate for a small block swap. Sure, I like the Porsche engine, but a small block Chevy V8 just empirically does everything better.

A friend of mine once told me part of prepping his autocross car was going underneath it with a die grinder and cutting off any bolt that stuck out past whatever nut it was threaded into. He ended up with four pounds of bolt remnants by the time he was finished.

I was hoping for an on-car view of being loaded on a roll-back for the ride to impound

Not exactly racing, per-se, but it's hard to think of a bigger gamble on wheels, ever, than the Thrust SSC supersonic land speed car.

Before there were lots of purpose-built circuits, the SCCA raced on a lot of public roads, many of them were unique, spectacular, and unimaginably dangerous. Las Ochas Millas in New Mexico is one of my favorites: 7.7 miles of sun-baked desert road around a small oasis, climbing up a mesa and then tearing along the

That's a bummer. How many times did he have to write "I will not drive more than 4 hours in a 6 hour period" on the car?

I think the most spectacular ones are already covered (Isle of Mann, Nurburgring, Monaco, Pikes Peak, Mt. Panorama) but I've got to nominate Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. A public road through a park on a man-made island, it's a great track mainly for the consistently exciting racing we see every year in F1.

The full Circuit de La Sarthe where the Le Mans 24h is run still has stretches of public roads, including the famous Mulsanne straight.

I could post so many, but I will give some other people a chance and just post one.
